If our flight comes in at 9pm and we're using ME, how late will our baggage be put in our room? Should we just grab our own bags before boarding to avoid a late night knock on our door??

There is a rule for I THINK after 10pm you have to get your bags. I could be wrong though.

In general though we always grab our bags when we arrive after 7PM just works easier for us. No waiting for your toothbrush before you go to bed.

We got in after 9pm in December. By the time we got to hotel and checked in, it was close to 11pm. We asked front desk to please have bags delivered, regardless of time. We also called Bell Services before falling asleep. When we woke up next morning (early, too around 6am) the bags were inside our door.

If you do not want to get bags at airport, maybe pack what you need in your carry-on so you are not delayed that night/next day if bags do not arrive in room.

It kind of depends on what resort you are staying at. The values stop delivering bags to the rooms around Midnight. All other resorts deliver them 24/7. If you don't want a knock on the door just tell the front desk to hold your bags. They will do so!

On our last trip, we landed around 7pm and got checked in at our resort around 9pm. Bags were delivered to our room just after midnight. We have a similar arrival time for our next trip, but I'm going to request this time that bags be held at bell services and I'll call in the morning for them to be delivered.

If I were you I would just get my own bags, that way I you would have them when you get to your room.

When figuring out when your bags should arrive in your room, the time you land doesn't factor. The time you check in at the resort does. Disney aims to have your bags to you within 3-4 hours of your checking in at the resort.

Except when you fly standby and can't get on your plane. Then the bags arrive 14 hours before check in and spend the night in your otherwise empty room. :(

You have a few choices here.

1. Tag your bags and let DME take them. If your flight arrives, onetime, at 9pm, you can expect to be at your resort around 10:30ish. Your bags can arrive up to three hrs after resort checkin. You can have them delivered (depending on the resort) or ask that they be held until the next morning. If you do that, let Bell Services know, and then hang out the 'privacy please' sign on your door.

2. Don't tag the bags and go get them yourself. That will add about 15-20 mins to your overall time, but you will have your bags with you, which is nice.

Last time I used this I arrived at 5 pm to Old Key West. and they lost my suitcase. I went to Old Key West, the suitcase went to All Star Sports. Called and asked to have it sent to Old Key West. They sent it to Caribbean Beach. It got to Old Key West around 1:30 am and they held it so I could pick it up at a more reasonable hour.

I doubt i'll be using the luggage service again.

Stupid thing was, I KNEW that it's 3 hours after check-in and not landing, but I was HOPING that bell services would beat the 3 hr mark and get them to the room before midnight. :headache: I didn't even need anything in the bags that night since I always pack my carry-on to include everything we need for the first 24 hours. I'm usually a night owl, up to 1am every night, but I failed to factor in the fact that I'd be zonked from traveling. So next time, I'll play it safe. Have bell services hold the bags, and then probably have insomnia and be wide awake until 2 in the morning anyway thinking "why didn't I just have the bags delivered so I could be organizing and putting stuff away?"
