Hi

For those who had used Magical Express before,
I already made M.E. reservation several weeks ago. My flight will arrive in Orlando on Feb 21.

I read thru the posts on DIsboard that i should expect to get a letter , three weeks prior to check -in date. (Correct?)

However today is Feb 9 . I still haven't got any letter .

My question is if all my luggages will be hand-carried all the way, should i be concerned about not getting the letter at all?

I mean all i need is transportation from airport to the Disney hotel.

Thx
Terence

Your luggage will not be hand carried. You will have to pick it up to go through customs and then check it back in. They will give you tags and you will in turn hand those in when you check in at the ME counter. I don't recall if we got a letter or not from ME.

It's not so late as to get anxious let alone panicked, but if nothing arrives soon, you should call ME (the reason will become evident).

After getting off of the plane, report to the ME welcoming area, "A" side lowest level. Bring (1) your room ressie, (2) your baggage claim checks if not your baggage itself) and (3) names of two people you talked to regarding your ME reservation.

You won't be left stranded.

ME vouchers will substitute for #3.

You should have no problems whatsoever.
I booked a last minute trip to Disney in January, and had not made reservations on ME as they are not required.
When you land in Orlando, go to the welcome counter, you will provide your hotel details. and at that time you will get vouchers for all in your party for both transfers. You will then be asked if you want them to take care of your luggage. At that time, you give them your baggage claim tickets as well as a description of your luggage. They will then point you in the direction of the luggage.
By the way, you don't clear Customs in Orlando as that will have been done at your departure point.
Have a great trip.

Psst! Don't look now but technically reservations are needed for ME, 10 days in advance going to Disney and one day in advance of checkout going home.

ME might be getting lax about enforcing this but too many walkups to the ME welcoming area and other transportation companies will resume complaining about losing business to ME.

Where you clear baggage for customs may vary depending on airline and itinerary. It is suggested that you attach the yellow ME tags (if you have them) at the customs point. I want to say that you put the yellow tags on a moment after customs inspection but if the customs agent whisks the bag away down the conveyor half a moment after customs inspection, you can't do that so you have to put the tags on a moment before the customs agent inspects the bag.
