magical express and trying to be legit

I am trying to figure out how this will work. Trip planned - My package starts 2 days prior to my nephew's original arrival date and package. Airfare has come down significantly if he flies out a day earlier. Can he book Magical Express for the earlier date and spend the night in my room (will pay the extra for him to stay in the room for the night)? What will happen when he gets to the Magical Express desk and they scan his band and see that his package doesn't start until the next day? Does he have to have my room reservation number to prove that he is on a room reservation for the night for the transfer? When signing up for magical express it did ask for the room reservation number but also for the flight number and date.

So if the date and flight number don't match the magic band package date will it matter?

As long as you add him to your room you will be fine. His Magic Band will reflect that.

But I won't be adding him until I check in or the morning of his flight - would that matter?

Add him then quickly arrange for his DME. You won't be able to do it before he's on your room.

You can add him to your reservation as soon as you check in as long as you don't exceed room occupancy. You can then call DME and arrange to have him take DME to your resort when he arrives at MCO the next day. He will have to stop at the counter to confirm the resort info.
