Magical Express and Park Tickets Question

My sister is in an AoA suite next month. Her SIL has decided to join them for the last few days of their trip and stay in the suite with them. When my sister called to get SIL added to ME she was told that because her SIL did not have the same tickets she could not use ME. Disney told her that every person on the reservation staying in the same room needs to have the exact same tickets. I assume she is talking about park tickets and not airline tickets because her SIL already has park tickets for the 2 days she is down there.

So I guess my question is can someone use ME in this type of scenario? Guest 1 uses ME first, and guest 2 comes down later on separate flight but staying in the same room. I didn't think this was an issue.

Any thoughts or how it can be done?

Yes, this can be done, but not the way your sister is trying to do it.

Since your sister has a package booked, if she wants to add her SIL before check in, she will have to add her to the package. She cannot just add her to the room only. Everyone on the package must have the same ticket entitlements and dining plan. It's not that she can't use DME without having the same tickets as your sister, it's that she can't use DME without a resort reservation. And she can't be on the resort reservation unless she is added to the package.

The way around it is for your sister to add her after she checks in. After she is added to the room, either your sister or the SIL will need to call DME to make a reservation.
