We are going on the Eastbound Panama canal cruise leaving Saturday. We are then going to WDW for 3 days, and taking ME to the airport. After packing for a 2 week cruise and 3 days at WDW, I'm really worried our luggage may be overweight. Since we won't have any way of measuring it, I was wondering how the luggage got weighed. Does it get weighed when checking it it at the resort, or do the weight it later. If they weigh it later how do they charge you if it's over weight? It's really hard to guess if your bags are 47 pounds or 52. Since I'm sure it would cost more to mail it home than pay the $25 fee for being over weight, if it must be overweight we will just pay for it. However, if I have 3 suitcases over by a pound or 2, I'd much rather move all the xtra weight to one and only pay for 1 suitcase over the limit.
I don't suppose the resorts have a scale they loan out to help with packing?
