I have never done a layover with utilizing magical express . Do you think layovers causes any issues with luggage ? It's probably no different than direct flights but I just want to ask others what their experiences have been! Tia!

They shouldn't. Only issue is if your luggage gets sent to Bora Bora without you, but that's possible without a layover and has nothing to do with ME tags.

Are you talking about a layover ( a night or day between flights) or just connecting flights? As long as your baggage is tagged with your destination airport, it should make no difference.

just make sure to put the yellow tags on your bags before checking in for your first flight, if you want ME to pick them up for you

in my experience, missing connections causes ME problems (last trip we got
stuck in US customs for hours in Toronto, ended up arriving at MCO 10 hours later than planned) but no luggage related problems

Well, let's be honest. Missing connections causes problems. Why should ME be excluded? Missing connections just plain sucks.
Took me a minute, PP meant ME as in myself, not ME as in Magical Express

Connections, layovers, etc all have no bearing on ME at all.
Now, in my mind, every time the luggage is moved it increases the odds that it's misplaced so I only fly direct but ME isn't impacted.

We flew Phoenix to Los Angeles and was suppose to grab a connection into Orlando. We were delayed out of Phoenix, missed our connection at LAX and was re-routed to Minneapolis/ St Paul and then into Orlando.

Our luggage made it safely to our rooms once we got to the resort.

Is there a chance your luggage gets lost? Sure. Is it likely? meh depends on your airline.

Put the yellow tags on it and you should be golden.

I figured it wouldn't be an issue. I never use a layover but this time it was a difference of $600 and I couldn't justify the extra money. So I just wanted to see if anyone felt their layover increased their chances of lost luggage. I'm glad to see it doesn't seem to be an issue. I plan on packing extra clothes in our carry on just in case!
