Magical DISney Weekend31st January 2009 - 2nd February 2009
Pre Trip
Day One
Day Two
Final Day - 2nd February 2009
IT'S SNOWED...IT's SNOWED...yelled the muppet who woke up at 6:15 today. After having a pillow thrown at me by DW and told to stop being a muppet I openend the curtains to about 4" of snow! The Santa Fe Hotel looked lovely in the snow but the pictures really don't do it justice.
Anyway today was our last day so we packed up the cases and left them with Luggage Storage in the Santa Fe to collect later, and headed over to breakast. Full and out in the snow by 7:30 we actually made it to the park gates for 7:56 today!! We had finally made it for park opening after three whole trips trying desperatly to make it in time!
We headed into the park via the lovely clear pathways that the CM's were desperatly trying to clear and headed down a very snowy Main Street. A very nice CM told us that due to the snow it would be Buzz, Peter Pan, SM2, Snow White and Pinnocchio open today so we headed straight to Buzz as we had been unable to ride this yesterday due to technical difficulties. After three rides round Buzz we headed to Fantasyland
where we found the Carousel open so we rode this (it would be rude not to) and then rode the other three rides in Fantasyland. We headed back over to Buzz for another two goes as this ride was quickly becomming Kacee's favorate in the park and then headed up Main Street via the shops, trading pins as we went (I picked up an amazing Minnie Mouse as Princess Lea pin) and headed over to the Studio's.Well we were literally the first people into the Studio's (after being 2 and 4 into the Disneyland Park this morning) and we headed straight for...Stitch Live! We were told that the first showing was not until 10:15 so we headed off to Studio 1 for a Hot Choccy and then back at Stitch Live! by 10:15
.
WOW, what an amazing show and well worth the wait. Kacee loved being able to sit on the floor and Ellie got chosen as Stich's Girlfriend. We thought this was brilliant and I'm already looking forward to going again in March. It was at this stage that Ellie started to stop when we were walking, after spending half an hour telling me she was fine she admitted that she had been feeling the baby tighten and relax since last night!! Apparantly she disn't want to worry me! We decided that we would just take everything slowly and have lots of heat breaks. By now it was 11am and we decided that as it still hadn't stopped snowing we would check at the Train Station to see if the Eurostar would be running, after being told that they weren't sure we headed to McDoalds for lunch and as Ellie paid I checked the Eurostar website from my iPhone and posted a frantic message on the DIS boards. We headed back to the Main Park and I handed in my complaint letter, informing them that I required a written response or a telephone call. As it was so cold we decided to cut down the Arcade and so glad that we did as who was standing by the Statue of Liberty show but Mickey Mouse!! After being pushed out of the way by a 40 year old woman Kacee got his turn
...then who should appear but Minnie too!! She beckoned Kacee back and Kacee has pictures with Mickey and Minnie
...Minnie then refused to have her picture taken with the woman who had pushed in (this is not the only time we saw CM's fighting back but I'll come to that later) We then headed back to IASW and spotted that the Teacups and Dumbo were operating now so Kacee and I rode them both while Ellie grabbed the buggy. After this we headed into Peter Pan and onto Snow White and Pincchio before deciding that Kacee and I would ride POTC while Ellie warmed up in a cafe
.
It was now hurtling towards 4pm and we said goodbye to the Disneyland Park and Kacee said that he would see Mickey 'Morrow'. As I'd booked the holiday I took it upon myself to tell Kacee that we wouldn't see Mickey morrow but that we would be back in March to see Mickey just the two of us! We headed off to the Dinsyeland Hotel for that Character Surprise which I was very glad was quiet! I'm sure you all know what happens here but as they Characters were dancing with the children a child of about 12 or 13 grabbed Tigger's tale, Tiger then turned round and waved hi paw in the childs face to say 'Non' then the child did exactly the same thing again and Tigger again said something in French to the child...again the child did the same thing and then as they were all dancing Tigger literally puched the child in the face. Well I couldn't stop laughing and that child certainly got his comeuppance!!
After this we headed to the Village as it was now 5pm and had dinner in Annettes. After dinner we headed to the Santa Fe, collected the cases and went to the Eurostar and started our uneventfull journey home and collapsed into bed at home around 11pm.
