MAGICal Christmas 2008 - December 20, 2008

Would people want to switch the times? We could do the ornament exchange at 9:30 and kick-off the scavenger hunt at 10? BTW, I'm pretty sure a a 2 PM photo would work for us, I think our high tea isn't until 3 PM that day. Gee, from the way it sounds, I wouldn't put it past any of us to be drinking a Long Island Iced TEA in Palo that afternoon instead of the conventional one! ;)

LM :santa:

Since the ornament exchange/scavenger hunt will be back to back, how about on the way out of the scavenget hunt stopping in the atrium to do the photo? Or doing the photo at 9:30 and then doing the ornament exchange, etc.

As for the dolphin excursion---I vote we pick a meeting spot and time, similar to how DCL does the excursions and anyone who wants to meet up and go over together can. Amy do we need something, like a ticket that says, yea, we paid, we can come in an do our thing?

Goodness you ladies have been talkative today! I'm at the point where you just need to tell me where and when and I'll be there. Like everyone else, I'll just be :woohoo: and :yay: and :worship: to be on the ship it won't matter what I do when.

Renee, I forgot to tell you I cancelled our cabana massage and booked the couple's choice. I can't wait to try it out.

On our family cards: my dis name, our names and emails, and our cabin number. If I can find a picture I'll put it on too.

It sounds like lots of us are planning on going to the Merry Member Mixer. I should be able to recognize a few of your kids. If I see you, I'll be sure and introduce myself. Carly and I will be riding our scooters if they let them in. Otherwise, Carly will have her crutches.

Only 10 more sleeps until we leave for Florida!

I like the idea of maybe making all of the events into one thing, then we have everyone at one time, and there's no need to come back for multiple events.

As for the dolphin excursion, I do have a confirmation from the company. I was going to email them about that day, since we might not be in one group, and that's your entry into Chankanaab, so I need to know if people just having the confirmation will be enough.

I know for a fact they DO let scooters into the Member Mixer.

About the Member Mixer---last year the sodas were some ridiculous price like $4 a can, they did have water and apple juice for free....but if you need to have soda while you are there, bring you're own from Epcot or wherever!

:rotfl2: Sorry, that's an inside joke!!! Not the scooters themselves, but someone else!!!

Oh, and I forgot all about the $4 sodas. RIDICULOUS!!! :sad2:

I was like--I can walk 500 ft and buy a $2.50 bottle of soda, why are they charging members $4 for a CAN. It left that much of an impression on me.

Although I have to say those cookies they had last year were oh-so-yummy!!

Oh yes they were!!! I hope they're good cookies this year too!!!

That sounds good to me. The only thing I think that may come up at that time would be Character breakfast, but you don't know what day you have that until you get there - unless someone knows something I don't.

I agree with you, the only thing that will interfere is the Character Breakfast, and since they're usually on SeaDays, then it will impact it for those that might have late seating. I wonder if we can find out the times, and we can adjust our time so all can be involved, but still have all 3 (ornament, photo & hunt) back-to-back.

We missed the Character Breakfast when we did the Med cruise (we left too quickly after dinner and missed our server telling us about it). That night at dinner he told us we had missed it but if we wanted to do it on the other day that he would be able to get us in for it.

We have main seating for dinner so we'd have the early breakfast. I'm thinking that my guys won't do it anyway (maybe Zachary would but I doubt Nathan or Gary would). Well, Gary might. Ok, so I don't know whether they would go or not, but the thing is, we have main seating anyway, so our time doesn't matter for a 9:30 on Monday :)

I do remember someone(s) posting about a Palo brunch and don't remember if it was at 10 or 11 (or both).

Gosh, why does it seem like we're herding cats? LOL!!!

So today I went to Walmart and bought wristwatches for the boys and for me so we'll each have a watch on the ship and not have to keep asking Gary what time it is ;)

And I couldn't find the magnetic paper, but I did find self-sticking laminating sheets so I think I'll just use card-stock and laminating sheets and press-on magnetic tape for our door signs.

Work was crazy today - I just kept reminding myself that it won't be long til I'm sailing away from it all.

Zachary asked tonight if we're doing anything on the 19th because his friend is having a party. I told him I thought we might be going out of town that afternoon.

Cindy I agree at times it does feel like trying to heard cats when your teying to organize plans for a large group.

Ok so unless some one just strongly objects we will do the group photo between the exchange and the scavenger hunt.

I thankfully have tomorrow morning off so I'm going to try and get some packing and other things started tomorrow. Our garage is beginning to look like a vacation exploded in there.

Good evening everyone!

I am up for whatever time the group decides on for the group picture.

We put on names, stateroom numbers and a family picture on our family "business card". Rick gets a few pictures of the mouse on there as well.

In the end, DH decided that we needed to ship off our Christmas decorations and FE gifts because we have WAY TOO MUCH luggage and he thinks it would be cheaper and easier this way. When we travel, we designate one person whose SOLE job is to take care of the baby (DD4:cutie:). She is a full time job and it makes DH and myself feel better this way. That means the rest of us haul more luggage, but oh well, it's for her safety. We went to Office Depot today and got shipping boxes and will ship it out tomorrow. With my luck, it will get lost or stolen and we will end up with nothing.:lmao: I will just have to cross my fingers and hope it gets there okay and on time.

Talk to everyone soon
Shannon

Ok, so I asked on the main cruise board about the character breakfast times and here's what I found out...

"It is usually 8:00 am for earlying seating and 9:30 for late so one of you can rush the kids to the club and the other can check in at Palo if you have a 10:30 resie, if you can't get it switched to 11:00."

So, does anyone in this group have late seating that would miss the picture?? I don't want that to be the case, so I'd rather see if we can figure it out ahead of time.

We have early seating, and no other reservations so any time is okay with us. I am going to try and make brunch reservations when I get on board since they are booked now. I will try and work around whatever time we decide to meet.

Angie

We have late dining. Sorry to be a poop! So it might interfere with us, I am assuming my younger kids will want to do the character breakfast. :confused3

I am in Chicago for business, it is snowing O’Hare is cancelling flights - fun fun fun!!! I can look out my hotel room window and see Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and Navy Pier, if the visibility wasn't so bad it would be a beautiful view. Anyway, I guess better this week than next week for the snow and flights being canceled. Wow, is that right, yes it is next week we will be departing for our long awaited Christmas Cruse Woo Hoo!!!:woohoo:

Good morning everyone!

A cold front has hit us in the south of Texas and it is 40 degrees and raining outside right now!:scared: I kept my DD4:cutie: home from preschool today because she is the one who gets sick the easiest and we JUST got over the respiratory flu; in fact, the older two still have that lingering cough.

Cindy and Amy: I got your PM, Cindy, and yes we are definately going. Amy, I have sent you a couple of PM with my e-mail address on them. Are you not getting them? Let me know!! I looked on my e-mail today for the excursion information and didn't find that you had sent anything to me, so maybe that's why!:confused3

Dec. 10th - Decide for sure on your room decorations, small trees, lights, etc. Put in Box.

I think I'm going to take my little tree that I have in my office. It's a little "Charlie Brown" tree that is about a food high from base to top. It will fit nicely on top of the steamer trunk and hopefully will mean that we don't junk up every surface in the cabin :)

Thanks to you ladies who helped me with the Tide travel pack info. I found some at WM last night - yay! Yeah, that and way too many other cute little travel size items I bought. I went in there for three things and $100+ and several items later, I left. Isn't that always the way?

Also thanks for the business card info. Now I won't miss any important info to include.

I can't believe we set sail in 10 days - is that right?!

Oh, and Shannon, maybe this will make you feel warmer - it's currently 18 degrees here. I cannon wait for Florida and the sun and WDW on Saturday. :woohoo:

Don't worry, Shannon! I got them, I just wasn't home last night, so didn't have time to send an email. But, one went out this morning.

The high today on the west coast of Florida is 83 today. But, we are going to be receiving a cold front and Friday's high is a whopping 62. :scared:

But, it looks like a warmup trend is happening after that, because our 7 day forcast for next Wednesday is 73, so hopefully it'll be nice next Saturday!!!:worship:
