MAGICal Christmas 2008 - December 20, 2008

We have ten more school days til summer. We are celebrating the end of school by taking a quick weekend to WDW. We're going to stay at the Beach Club - haven't stayed there before. The kids are excited about Stormalong Bay. We are planning to go to Epcot on Friday night but will likely spend a good portion of Saturday just hangin' around the resort - treating it a bit like a cruise ship with a Sea Day (LOL). Only no one will be picking up the tab for our meals and there won't be a free beverage station as we won't be purchasing the refillable mugs.

Wow, most of your kids are almost done with school. My girls still have a month left. They were actually supposed to be done on June 12th but now because of the school days they have to go till the 16th. The 16th is a Monday and only a 1/2 day. It seems worthless to me but I guess those are the rules. Anyway, I guess the good thing is they don't go back till after Labor Day.
They just both have so many activities planned right now that I can't wait till everything is over and we can just relax at night. Between softball 4 nights a week plus Brownies and dance we are constantly on the go. It will be nice to go on vacation. That is what I keep telling myself to get through these next couple of weeks. Then we can spend the weekends at the shore and go to WDW in August.

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Shannon, I was wondering if you had a lot of responses for the fish extenders/ornament exhchange yet. I am planning on ordering some stuff for a birthday party, and wanted to get some stuff for the cruise, but I have no idea how many people are participating.

Good afternoon, everyone! I have been working EVERY day (4 days down, 6 to go! ) It is nice and hot here in the south of Texas, now. We average 92-101 degrees every day!

The kids have 10 more school days to go! I am SOOOO ready for summer break! Mitchell has been busy with baseball and will soon be starting basketball as well. Thank God Morgan has no ambitions in life because I wouldn't be able to run around for two kids in all these activities, AND she watches Melissa for us!

I have only gotten responses from a few people on the exchanges(maybe 4 at the most), but I figure a lot of people haven't been posting on this thread in quite a while, so maybe it's just a matter of time (like when it gets closer to cruise time? ). I hope we have more participation than just 4 or 5 families!!! I want this Christmas to be great!

Well, I have to go now and get ready for ANOTHER night of babies, babies, babies!!

Hi Shannon...I know our neighbors, aka sailingshamu, want to do the exchange/fish extenders, but they are new, so can't pm you. So if you could add them to the list, they would appreciate it. Today we spent our time between Connor's soccer game and Nick's lacrosse game. It sure is getting hard now that I have both boys involved in sports. It keeps us all busy, that's for sure.

Lissa, We actually check into WDW on Aug 15th. We miss you by one day. It would have been nice to meet before the cruise. My last day of summer classes is August 14th so I have just enough time to relax for 8 days before fall classes start up again. My girls don't start school until September. I can't wait to go. Where are you staying? We are staying at OKW.

We haven't checked in for a while. We are all going on the xmas cruise. My husband and my kids and my second time - 2006 and now 2008. This time I am bringing my sisters, dad, and their kids. 16 in all.

Been really busy and haven't had a chance to check in much. School out June 18 and Im free all summer! I'm an 8th grade teacher - ready to be out....

I teach a mixed class with third and fourth graders. It is a small school so I only have 11 students between the two grades. This is my first year and I love it. Good luck with your classes. I know what you mean about needing a break. I'm working on my masters online and started a new class today. I'm ready for school to be over so I can focus on one thing.

I wonder how things are really going in Costa Maya?

I think the locals are trying to walk a fine line between reporting how devastating Hurricane Dean really was/is and making sure folks see positive info about rebuilding.

I know some of the early reports and pictures were heart wrenching.



Sheesh, all this talk about getting out of school already... we don't finish up until June 18th here.
Crazy, huh?


I hope everyone is still cruising with us and our thread is just really quiet because of busy lives and plenty of time left before we sail.

Aw DisDancerina - that's disappointing. Hope you all will still do something magically fun in December.

Our guys are getting out of school on Friday and we're heading out for WDW as fast as we can get out of town for the weekend.

I found something for the gift exchanges the other day - I'm excited to start collecting up some little things to use to put together our goody bags for all our DIS friends!

Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend - we had a day off work today that was much needed, but we also made sure to take time to remember the men and women of the Armed Forces, not just from the US but also from other countries who have fought for freedom throughout the world.

Getting very excited. School here in WA does not let out until June 18th. Sixteen more days of teaching!!! My graduating daughter (from high school) gets out the 12th.

I am all ready to order our WDW dining arrangements for after our cruise. Time is getting closer. Any suggestions for a group of 16 with one family being vegetarians and the rest of us liking steak?

Counting the days... first until school lets out, then RCCL Mexican cruise in August, then Disney in December.
