MAGICal Christmas 2008 - December 20, 2008

Well, we're leaving St. Petersburg soon. Going to the girls' tumbling show and then heading over to Disney.

Zachary and I are home, the car is loaded - just waiting on Gary to get home and us to go get Nathan. I wasn't sure I was going to get everything in the trunk - it's insane! I never realized how much space FE's and costumes, etc. take up - but they sure do add to the fun of the cruise!

I'm buzzing with excitement!

We made it to Orlando and are settled into the Hyatt at the airport. DH and DS are down at the pool. MIL and FIL 's fight from Milw was cancelled. They are on one tomorrow . . . send good thoughts their way . . . BIL's flight is delayed so it looks like they will miss thier connecting flight in Atlanta . . . This can't be happening . . .

Ran into DD's band teacher on the flight down. He is almost as much of a Disney freak as us . . . it was fun to run into someone who has a schedule typed out of where they are going at WDW, just like I do!!!

See you all tomorrow . . . Hope those from Chicago and Milw make it.

We made it to Titusville, FL-our drive from PA was okay with one 2 hour delay sitting on I-81. So glad to be here and can't wait to meet everyone tomorrow.

We arrived safe and sound at the Country Inn and Suites around 8 pm. Uneventful trip down - traffic was a bit heavy on I-95 around Jacksonville and then let up.

The hotel is really nice. We booked the park-and-sail. When we got here, we checked in. I asked about a roll-away and she said they had them but there wasn't room in the room for them - but if we wanted to get a suite for $20 more (the roll-away was $10), then that would give us the extra sleeping space i wanted. So we decided to do that, plus the suite gives us more room for our luggage - and since we'll spend the next 7 nights on top of each other, well, the extra space seems nice!

When we went back down to get our luggage from the car, I asked about changing our reservations for next Saturday night to a suite as well. She said she could do that. When we came back in with the luggage, she said not only did she assign us to the same suite, she was not charging us the extra $$ that a suite usually ran. So that was really nice.

The boys are beginning to wind down (yay). We're taking the 10:30 shuttle over to the port in the morning - and we can't wait to meet you all.

I was just telling Gary and the boys about some folks with flight and travel delays - please know we're sending good thoughts out for everyone to arrive before sail-away time. I wonder if the Magic will set sail late to give time for late arrivals - you figure that there will likely be some folks who booked their air travel through DCL that they will hold the ship for them........

Our kids now know where they are going, I am surprised you all didn't hear the sqeals of excitement coming from them both.

They were well impressed with the treasure hunt we set them.

As we're staying on at the villa after the cruise we have had to unpack and then pack again all the things we need for the cruise, so far we have only managed to pile everything on the floor that is required, so it will only take us an hour to pack in the morning.

I think another early start is required, but I bet my daughter will not perform the alarm clock duties in the morning.

Only a few hours to go now!!

Good morning everyone - not sure that anyone is checking anymore, but we're here at WDW. Had a delightful dinner at Artist Point last night, and the girls LOVED the Cub's Den. Boy, they really take care of them there. At first, I thought about how much $$$ is was, but when we picked them up, they gave us all of their "goodies" - 2 My Little Pony puzzles, their crafts that they did and Mickey head rice krispies on a stick and they fed them dinner. So, not too bad!

It's a little before 7am, everyone is still asleep, and I'm filling up the tub for a little bit of a soak. We're staying in a 1 bedroom villa at VWL, so I just HAVE to take advantage of the jacuzzi tub. Plus, with all the late nights, running around and packing, my body needs a good soak!!!

We almost got stuck in Newark !
We where able to switch to the 8am flight yesterday.
Barely missed the snow storm.
We are at Saratoga springs relaxin.
We will be leaving Saratoga at noon.

Where is the meet and greet and when!
We are finally there!

If you're checking, too, don't forget the ornament exchange is at 9:30 on Monday, group picture also at 9:30, and digitial scavenger hunt at 10:00 -- all in the Promenade Lounge.

We enjoyed meeting so many of you earlier today. If you weren't able to make it to the meet, come on by Monday at 9:30 even if you aren't planning to participate in the exchange / hunt just to say hello!

I see I 'm not the only one with an internet connection on board then.

We couldn't make it yesterday as we got delayed with the concierge team, and then we ended up back at the room to get ready for the drill

Paul - I might have seen your children on the elevator this morning - two adorable children with British accents getting off on deck 8.

It's been a beautiful day on Castaway Cay - now DH is napping and I'm getting ready to go to the DVC members celebration. Hopefully they'll have Mickey Rice Krispie treats!

We have enjoyed meeting so many of you!

Yes they are adorable, most of the time.

We've had a great day on Castaway Cay, they Jet Ski's were awesome (said in his best american accent)

Cindy, yes they would have got off at Deck 8, although they got lost on their way back to the room at Breakfast.

The kids have not even been in the kids club yet - what on earth of we doing wrong.

I hope everyone else is having a fantastic time, and if the weather is going to be this good its going to be a great week.

Sorry we didn't make it to the meet earlier today, too. Everything kind of got off track for us somehow today. We had a good time, but it did not go quite as expected! I'm going to try my best to make it to the ornament exchange - I have a cute one!

My Kids(us TOO) are having so a good time coming to the Door and looking for the FE surprises.
We willbe sending ours out today but I didnot label them... Ops We are FE newbies!
