Magical Character Interactions

Cinderella, Anna, Rapunzel, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Dug. Any from your 2014, 2015 and 2016

We had a magical moment with chip and dale last summer (2015) on the Magic - we were on the Dover to Barcelona cruise and found them playing around near shutters .... They spent ages with us and we got some great pictures...

Sorry they are out of our order but I believe the ones where my daughter is in the white dress are from our 7-night Northern Europe in 2015 and the ones in the owl shirt are definitely from our 12-night British Isles cruise this June. The item in Princess Anna's hand is a pack of gum that we hand out to everyone that helps make our cruise special. Usually, the character escort holds onto it for the character until after the interactions are over.

I've had a few memorable character interactions. My favorite was on my first Disney cruise I entered the elevator on the pool deck heading to deck 4. The elevator stopped on the 9th floor and Stitch boarded alone. He gave me a high five and then proceeded to press every single button on the elevator I told him that wasn't very nice but obviously it made me laugh. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera or phone on me so I missed out on some cool pictures, however as a result of this unplanned meeting I always carry a camera or my phone on me just in case.

We had a few, but the most memorable was on our 2013 Fantasy cruise. We were just starting a round of putt-putt, when Goofy comes running up wanting to play a round with my son. I honestly thought that Goofy would just play a hole or two, but he and my son played the entire course one-on-one. It was really awesome watching them interact with each other. By the time they got to the last hole, there was a group of kids watching and following them along the way.

The second was on the same cruise. It was the princess meet & greet and my son was getting photos and all of the autographs he could, but his biggest smile was when Belle planted a big kiss on his cheek. He was in love and didn't want to wash that lipstick off! LOL

The characters are some of my best memories. Love the longer cruises when they get to know you. On our PC sailing we were first or second in line for most of the character meets. One night we were coming back from the pool and Chip and Dale were in the atrium and insisted we get pics with them (for some reason no one else was there!) Since we were in our pool clothes they let us hide behind them and just peek out for the photo. Love when they are willing to do fun poses (like pretending to tip over in rough seas) or share a dance when you meet them around the ship.

My favorite character interaction was on the Liarsville excursion in Skagway. Chip, Dale and Donald are there for meet and greets as part of the excursion. By luck, we happened to be the only people near the gold panning area when Chip and Dale arrived. The CMs with them waived us over and asked if my son (almost 2 at the time) wanted to meet them. He was interested, but a little reluctant, so Chip broke the ice by presenting him with a leaf he had picked up. My son is very into nature, rocks, leaves, bugs, etc., so he was delighted and started to look for treasures that he could share with Chip and Dale. We had a good few minutes of my son playing with the chipmunks before any other guests made their way over.

On the Disney Magic feb. 2016. Rapunzel appeared quietly almost out of no where and gave us a magical moment when she stopped, bent down and talked to our 3 yoa daughter for at least 3-4minutes as we were looking at photos. It was out of the blue and unexpected- a chance encounter. True magic and joy was passed between the two as they conversed quietly and rapunzel hugged her and left.

So, those photos are the Anna and Elsa that made my children's cruise so special.... I spent a bit of time speaking with Anna and Elsa's friends as we did three cruises B2B2B, so saw them around a lot . Both of their friends got named on our comment cards

I have Pluto and Chip & Dale... But from the Fantasy (and some Pluto on the Dream).

We went to the 10:15PM Pixar Party on the Wonder in August and were right up front as there were fewer people at the late party. The Pixar characters came down the staircases and then into our area to dance with us. We danced with Dug! It was hilarious, with his tongue flapping around.

Lol, I wouldn't use that as the main reason to go to Alaska, especially with the Toy Story Musical leaving--will they still have the Pixar Party next year? They used to hold it on Toy Story night.

They've had 'frozen night' for the past 2 yrs on the Alaskan cruises without the musical. It's been on Day 4, Skagway. They had Anna's Chocolate Chase (3 clues/day) on Days 2, 3, 4 (and getting your chocolate prize on day 5). On Day 4 they had the Oaken's Maypole thing at some point in the atrium, and the Frozen Deck party at night. I liked how they did the deck party this year--it was a Frozen Sail Away Party at 7:30PM--it was a lot of fun sailing out of Skagway while partying to Frozen songs.

I thought part of the reason for the Pixar party was that they cannot do fireworks in Alaska... Plus Pirates doesn't really seem to fit in Alaska, so... But who knows.

My oldest girl's name is Anna and (of course) loves Anna from Frozen. We signed up for the Anna and Elsa M&G during our 2015 Dream Cruise. All three of my girls were together but Anna focused completely on my Anna during their time together and they had the sweetest conversation together. Elsa talked with my younger two and my Anna could not have been happier to have this small moment with Anna by herself!
