what is MB? i guess it gives you a bigger discount on buying more points..... but is this program only for current members?

Magical Beginnings: Disney buys back your first year's points at $10/point, so you pay $74/point instead of $84, and it's available to anyone.

DVD (Disney Vacation Development - the company overseeing DVC) often puts a minimum limit for which you can use MB (I believe it is on new sales and add-ons over 100 pnts).

In addiition, you should realize that, although you can "sell back the points" for $10 per point, this does not affect your responsibility for maintenance fees (although they may be pro-rated for your first year) on such points.

just curious why would disney want to buy a customer first years points?

and it is only for the first year right?

Thanks new-yawka for expanding my answer!

As far as why Disney would want to buy back points, it may be because to give the buyer more of an incentive to buy because of the break in price, especially if they've just taken a trip to WDW and don't really need those points this year. Also, Disney can turn around and "rent" those points through CRO for cash reservations, so they're not really losing money.

Yes, they only take back the first year's points.
