Magical Beginnings?

We were at Disney at the end of March early April and I was wondering if any one knew if the offer for the magical beginings had an expiration? My guide said that in order to take advantage fo the buy back we needed to commence the deal 72 hrs. after our tour. I read that others have taken advantage of the offer even for add-ons. Do you think it's a good deal? Do we still have to pay the maintence fees from the 2002 points even if we sell them back? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We just put a down payment on yesterday and our guide said the Magical Beginnings was good until the end of May...... they will then go to a January use year. If you want I can give you our guide's number - she's great!

Whether it is a good value depends on your patience and use year. I was going to use MB, but since I'm purchasing in California, the only use years available for BCV were February, March and April. December has sold out (for California based buyers).

Since my vacations will most likely fall over winter, I decided that April would be the best use year for me. My patience will not allow me to wait all the way until winter 2004-2005 to "go home!"

So, I skipped the MB so I can get the points this year and head out in January/February 2004 for BCV.

It would have been nice to use MB, but it's nicer knowing I'll be at WDW in 7 months versus 19 months.

Yes, you'll still have to pay prorated dues and taxes for points used in Magical Beginnings. Basically, it is the same as if you kept the points and rented them on the rent/trade boards, without the hassle of dealing with a rental contract

Just an FYI...there is no January use year.

Last Friday we did an add on of 100 BCV points using MB; we have an August use year. Our add on is going to be back dated so that those 100 points will be available for us in August, 2003.

We've also just added on 100 October use year points at BCV using MB. The '02 points were sold back since we really didn't need them this (use) year and we've already upgraded our October stay to a 1 bdr and added a day with the new points.
