Who all has booked trips under this plan? I am seriously considering doing this for a quick trip at the end of September but am wondering who else has done this. This will be the first trip I have even booked thats not with AAA. Anyone ever have any problems booking with Dreams Unlimited?? Any information would be helpful. Thanks . :earsgirl:

I did for 8-21 to 8-26. Got all my meals (except a few adult refreshments) and extra munchies free. Thats like a $350. It is a great deal. They are obviously doing this because of the predicted harsh hurricane season. I just pray it is a mild time, not just for our stay, but for everyone down in FL.

CG, I will pray for calm weather then, too, because we are there from 20 to 25th.

A lot of folks on the resort board have booked this package. You don't have to go through DU....you can call Disney direct and get it.

JackieH is it the same price through Disney? Just Central reservations and ask for magic your way plus free dining?

I booked my trip with a family friend who is a travel agent...can I add FREE dining to my exisiting MYW plan?? If so, how much does it cost??? (I'm not trying to be funny here, but I can't possibly believe its FREE) Someone help!

I had an existing ressie and just called Disney and they added the free dining code on. So all you have to do is call your travel agent and tell them to apply the YMP code to your package, and yes it is free. The only problem you may possibly run into is that it is limited at certain resorts and dates based on availability....(whatever that means).

I had already booked a room only ressie at POP for Sept 17th-Sept 24th using the AP code. The free MYW dining was a better deal for us, so I cancelled the room only ressie and booked the pkg through Disney. I had checked with a couple of the travel companies (including Dreams Unlimited) and I got it for the exact same price (and cheaper than a couple of the travel agencies) calling Disney myself. I just wanted to be in control of my ressie (unless the TA could get me a better deal-which they could not).

Everyone in the room has to buy the same park ticket, but you don't have to activate it. I'll use my AP once I get down there and then save the unactivated MYW ticket for next year after the AP expires. If you have kids going (we don't) it is an especially good deal, because the meals are not specified as adults or kids (except kids must order off the kid's menus at table service--if you order anything specifically for them). Alot of people are either ordering for themselves and then letting their kids share with them and then using the kids meals later in the trip as extra sit down and table service meals or else paying for their kids seperately. I don't remember if the OP specified which resort they were staying at, but people have figured that even with an AP the MYW free dining is a better deal if you are staying at a Value or Moderate resort. If you're saying at a deluxe then the $100.00/night discount AP holders get washes out the free dining discount. Just do your numbers. MYW was cheaper for us, even though I have an AP and I will still have a $248.16 7 day MYW with the plus options to use next year after my AP expires or I can use it to apply toward my AP renewal if I decide to renew it.

We did something similar to what aubriee did. We are staying 6 nights in early October and only got 1 day tickets. We have AP's so we'll have 3 one day tickets that we'll use later. We only get AP's every other year, so we'll need them. We got the free dining and the six nights at Pop for under $700! I was ecstatic. It was going to be almost $400 more to stay at PO-FQ, which is what we originally had planned, but since we're flying this trip we wanted to save as much as possible and frankly 6 nights/7 days including food for under $700 - we feel like this is the best deal we've gotten yet! We have a long weekend from school so they'll only miss 2 days total. Now off to search for some good airfare deals.

We already had a package booked through AAA for Aug. 27-Sept. 4 at WL. We had booked the room (had the AAA 15% off discount), 10 day MYW no exp. tickets and the dining plan.

As soon as I heard about the free dining during this time, I called my TA and she waited on hold with Disney for 45 minutes and we were able to keep the exact same package, but lost the 15% room discount and then got the dining free (which was $960 for us).

All in all, without the room discount and with the free dining, our exact same package is now $653 cheaper :cool1:

Good luck to you with booking!!

We hadn't planned on going until Dec but with the free dining we decided to go early. We also have AP's and will just not activate our tickets until next year and maybe apply it towards others AP's. We are staying at POP again and for 6 nights it was about $600 - can't beat that. Now I am stuck just trying to find cheap airfare. Right now it is sitting around $250 + :earboy2:

I wish we had waited to activate our AP's. It would be a waste of money to purchase more tickets just for the meals. Oh well...:)

Actually, it's not a waste of money... because you don't have to use those tickets during this trip.

MYW packages are not the same as the former 'length of stay' package deals that WDW offered during previous years. You can use your AP's for admission during this visit and save the MYW tickets for another time. Just tuck them away unactivated, and then upgrade them (or use 'as is') at a later date. MYW tickets do not expire until 14 days after their first date of use for park admission--their expiration is not linked to the dates you check into or out of your resort.

So, rather than being a 'loss', the tickets acquired with your MYW package can simply become a 'pre-payment' towards next year's ticket purchase. :teeth:

We're also in Colorado and suffering the no-cheap-airfare problem, but we couldn't resist the free dining plan either. So we're going in September and we're using frequent flyer miles. It was 250ish from DEN, but almost 400 from COS! We'll use the 1 day passes for the next AP renewal.

My two best friends and I are going in Mid-September for a girls-only trip . Our dining plan includes a counter service, a snack, and a sit-down dinner, but no breakfast. Is this standard or should I call my travel agent? Also, how do they know you're on the dining plan? Do you just give them your room card when you pay?

It means they only have a certain number of rooms available at each resort under the free pkg. We just booked our trip and moved it from Nov to Oct b/c of this deal. This is a huge savings for us as a family of 4. We wanted to book at POFQ for beginning of October but it was booked up. That doen't mean the resort was booked up just the number of FREE dining pkgs allocated at that resort. Hope that helps.

IT IS FREE! I made reservations with Disney and doubled checked with the website that my room and tickets charge that I was quoted by the CM is what was on the site as well. The package includes more than we would normally buy during the week like appetizer and dessert at Table Service and dessert at Counter Service. It appears all restaurants are on the pkg (or any of the ones we could possibly wish to eat at). We are really happy with this and are now just waiting for a flippin' deal on flights :sad2:

Yes I believe that is what you do. You tell them before you order that you are on the dining plan. They give you reciept after your meal that tells you how many credits you have left. It sound pretty easy. Complete Details:

Can anyone explain to me how you did your package with AP and free dining??. What you are doing sounds like what I want to do but I have it priced a little different
Here is waht I have
Free dining package
Sept 29- Oct 3 (travel 2 adults)
5 day with PH
All star Music (pop was full :-()
816.56

When I did the AP thing (just for one of us) this is what I got (i didn't do free dining. is there a way to use AP and free dining?)
Same days
875 (includes lodging ap and a 3 day ph)

Could you explain to me how you can do the AP and still get free dining??

I read this post and called Disney directly to add the YMP code. The agent was wonderful. I had to pay $1.06 to get the plus dining option added to my package...I was so thrilled. This is our first trip, and I heard from many people that dining is so expensive at Disney.
