Here we are at the first day of 2008 already and I'm beginning to plan our 2008 trip. I may be even a little late. We normally go in September and the past few years, we've hit the Aug/Sept- Magic Your Way Plus Free Dining that you can add to a resort/passes package. Has anyone heard if Disney will be offering this in 2008 again as they have in the past or will this also be a change that Disney will make?

They offered a bounceback program for the free dining to those who stayed and had the free dining at a Disney Resort while there in August and September. No word if they will again offer it. But assuming they do, it won't be announced until April more than likely.

The "bounceback" was if you used the free dining while at Disney last year, it was offered to you again next year for certain date period if you wanted it. For example, we were at Disney for the free dining from September 1 - 9, 2007. We made reservations for the free dining again from September 1 - 9, 2008 ("bounceback"). Hope this helps.

Don't think this is a dumb questions, but what does the 'bounceback' mean?

It was a program they offered that if you booked while on your current trip during a certain time frame, then you got a special promotion (free dining) if you booked for certain dates the next year. . . in essence, bouncing back to Disney World.

So people that called from their resort rooms in September could book free dining for 2008.

Edited to add: Oh and OP, no one has heard for sure whether it'll be available for general public yet, but watch for a Disney Visa free dining promotion. That comes out just before the public onsales if you go by the history. It gives Disney Visa cardholders a window to book without competing for space with everyone.

Just an FYI...Bounceback is somewhat of a generic marketing term.

Generally it applies to an offer you receive on the spot that encourages you to return or spend more money on your next trip.

Besides the Disney offer described here some other examples would be:

Coupons you received at a restaurant or retail location for discount or free merchandise/service if you return to the establishment before the offer expires. (coupon on your receipt, flyer for a special sales, etc.)

Not a dumb question, so now you have a new term you can use at that cocktail party! (or at the gym now that it's a new year). Hope that helps!

By the way my family did book the bounceback and hope to follow through with the trip!
