Walt Disney World Tickets Will Now Be Totally Flexible!

Beginning January 2, 2005, Disney will sell only Magic Your Way tickets at the gates, in advance and in association with vacation packages.

* You start with a Magic Your Way "base ticket" of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 10 days. That ticket allows admission to one theme park per day and expires 14 days after first use. The cost per day drops dramatically as you buy more days, from $59.75 for a 1-day ticket to just $29 per day for a 7-day ticket!

* You can add a No Expiration option for an extra charge ($10-$100, depending on the number of days). This is cheap insurance if you think you might not use up your whole ticket during your trip, or you could buy a 7-day or 10-day ticket and use it over the course of multiple trips if you wanted.

* You can add on a Park Hopper option for a flat rate of $35 per ticket (regardless of the number of days). That means you can now buy a one-day, two-day or three-day Hopper ticket if you wish.

* You can add the "Magic Plus Pack" which gives you a set number of admissions to the water parks, Pleasure Island, DisneyQuest and Wide World of Sports, for a flat rate of $45 per ticket. The number of "plus" admissions varies with the length of the ticket (ranging from 2 to 5 "pluses"), so there is an incentive to buy a longer ticket and get more "pluses" for your $45.

And here I thought I knew what tickets I was going to get. I'll just have to do my calculations/budget again.

This confuses me. So, the prices that are on the disneyworld.com website will no longer be available on January 2nd? And that would mean I either buy the magic you way tickets and have them expire or pay $$ extra for the no expiration offer. How much difference will it be for a 4 day magic your way tickets to the 4 day no expiration? Won't this be more expensive for me that way? But, what if I buy the 4 day park hopper tickets before January?

The difference is that the standard Magic Your Way tickets will be cheaper than current hopper passes so those who don't want the hopper option aren't paying for something they won't use.

Here is the pricing info from Mousesavers:

Magic Your Way Base Ticket (admission to one theme park per day, tax NOT included)

# Days Adult Child
1 $59.75 $48.00
2 $119.00 $96.00
3 $171.00 $137.00
4 $185.00 $148.00
5 $193.00 $155.00
6 $196.00 $157.00
7 $199.00 $160.00
10 $209.00 TBA

Add-on purchases to the base ticket include:

Park Hopper Option - Adding the Park-Hopper Option lets you come and go as you please through all four Disney theme parks on the same day or every day for each day of your pass. Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket is a flat rate of $35 – or just $5 per day on a seven-day ticket!

Magic Plus Pack - This option provides the choice of admission to Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park, DisneyQuest, Downtown Disney Pleasure Island or Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket is a flat rate of $45. The flat rate gives you 2-5 visits to Magic Plus Pack attractions, depending on the number of base ticket days you purchased. Thus there is a big incentive to buy the longer passes, so that you'll get more "pluses" for your $45.

Magic Your Way Premium Ticket - This ticket combines the benefits of the Park Hopper option and the Magic Plus Pack option. Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket is a flat rate of $80.

No Expiration Option - Regular Magic Your Way Tickets expire 14 days after their first use. Choosing the No Expiration option means you are free to come back and take advantage of unused tickets at any time. Extra cost on top of the base-price ticket starts at $10 for a 2-day ticket, up to $55 for a 7-day ticket. ($100 for the 10-day ticket.)

Lilmamabelee- You Can Buy The Hopper Ticket You Want Now- And It Will Not Expire.

HEY STRINGS- Look at your counter-- 1 year exactly!!! :cool1:

Okay, so if I get this right...then 2 adults and two kids who want to park hop and want the no expire option are expected to pay around $950..when I would've been paying close to $800 the regular way. So, if I buy the old 4 day park hopper tickets before January will they still be good to use and won't expire?

I think this is going to be a positive change. Much more budget friendly than the old passes. If I understand this right a new 7 day pass with the premium add on will cost $279 per adult while the old 7 day PHP cost $364. Almost a $100 savings! That really adds up for a family. Even if you add the no expiration feature for $55 you still come out with a much better price.

LilMamiBella it looks like a 4 day adult ticket will cost $185 for a basic adult ticket, park hopper feature add another $35 so that brings the cost up to $220.Add the no expiration and I will estimate it to be $25, there is no set price on mousesavers just $10 for a 2 day and $55 for a 7 day, and that brings it up to $245. Currently the 4 dayhopper is $230. If you get a 4 day pass and add the premium option, hopper privledges and plus options, for $80 your pass is now $265 and there is no 4 day PHP now.

I am happy about it- we go in December and don't use the plusses- also we have had the need for 2 day hoppers... because of leftover days on old tickets...
YES- IF YOU PURCHASE THE TICKETS YOU WANT NOW THEY WILL BE HONORED- THE PASSES THEY ARE SELLING NOW DO NOT EXPIRE!
Also- keep in mind - these are Disney's gate prices- maybe they will come out with advance purchase prices or maybe other brokers like hotwire and tickmania will beat these prices.

If you plan to add the no expiration to your passes it makes most sense to buy the 10 day passes for only $24 more per pass and then you'll have even more days to use in the future.

I calc'd a 5 day hopper advance purchase for 2 adults and 2 kids after tax at $881.82. A 5 day Magic Your Way base + the Hopper option for the same # people at mousesavers listed rates comes out $890.34. There will be a discount on top of that for advance purchase, which I'm certain will make it cheaper than my original park hopper total. Basically, I'm paying less money in exchange for tickets that expire. What excites me is that adding a day will only cost an extra $10.65 total if I'm reading it right. That takes care of my question about what to do arrival day! For $10, I'm going to the parks!..... if I'm reading it right!

It'll be our first ever trip to WDW and I'm wondering if they'll be enough to do if we're only going to one park a day? Would we'd only be able to go to Magic Kingdom or would we be able to go to any park but just one a day?

I'm not entirely sure about the new changes, but I think they will be positive for those of us who stay longer (and it seems to me that they are designed to encourage longer visits).

One good thing for me is that I have six old tickets with pluses left on them, so we will be able to get 10 day no expiration park hoppers for  only $344 each, which is $34.40 per day, and these will last 2 trips

All I know is that this new plan will save us a lot AND I can do more. It really is based upon your needs and wants. You can decide more what YOU want to do. Awesome! :flower1:

Can you go to any park you want? Or can you only go to one certain park everyday that you're there?

not figuring in advanced purchase discount (hope its good) the new 5 day w/ hopper addition will be cheaper for the adults in our party, but more expensive for the kids, for a total that is $10 more than we would have spent (current advanced prices for PH). If the advanced purchase price is significant, I will eventually come out ahead.
Also, I can stay one more day for only a few more $. Now if the discount codes only stay the same......this might make up for having to postpone my trip to next fall!

One benefit of this plan is that you can tailor your ticket to be one park each day or to make it a park hopping ticket for an extra fee on top of the ticket's base price.

I figured out the cost for a 4 day hopper with expiration date (inc tx) and it is $4 less than what I would pay today, at the resort or park for a 4 day hopper that does not expire.

Sooo, for folks like us on a budget it does not seem to save money. I cannot afford to up the number of days, then add the hopper flat rate and then add on the no expiration rate to try to save money for a future trip. It's not feasible for us.

It is an extremely confusing system. It's only the first days news, but I;m not thrilled

Guess we'll know more once people start buying them -also what will the resort rates be now? Any more discount codes or wonder if those will change as well. Hmm,interesting and confusing!!

What I mean is can I go to Epcot one day, Animal Kingdom one day, etc as long as its one day and one park? Or amI supposed to only go to Magic Kingdom everyday I go?

Pretty sure it is one day, one park - like we buy when we check in now if there for 3 nights. We have 2 days put on our resort key, but it is one day , one park - any park each day.

Make sense???
:flower1:

LilMamaBelle -

One park per day, any park you choose. MK Monday, MGM Tuesday, MK Wednesday, AK Thursday. Any park you choose that day, but only one park per day without the hopper option (which is not worth the expense IMO)
