Hello DISers!

I have been playing around with the create-your-own magiv band covers and i will probably end up ordering for me and my daughter. But i'm wondering if anyone wants to share pics of the covers they created. Im talking about the one where you use your own image (or one off of google). Does anyone have any good tios for layering images or adding font or any general tips?

I have customized 4 of them and have 5 more to create. I just received all of them in the mail yesterday and I am very pleased with them. I think everyone will be thrilled to get them.

DH=a picture of a galaxy; DSIL = Mr. Incredible in 2 different poses; DGD2 = Belle on one side of the band and the rose in stained glass on the other side; Mine is Maleficent on one side and the dragon on the other. I am working on a Pinocchio one, and Inside/Out one, a Star Wars or some of my DS art (he is quite talented); a Chewbacca one; and a Finding Nemo one (this one is the most difficult).

I received them 1 week or less after ordering.

I made some, and am very happy, also, with how they came out, and how quickly. I would highly recommed them. I haven't applied mine to my current band yet. Selfishly, though, I am keeping my designs to myself, so that they are not copied, and will stay unique! I did a Beauty and the Beast, Tinkerbell, Tigger, Snow White, and Cinderella, Star Wars and Up.

I totally understand that, BBB! Thank you for sharing your ideas. I am doing one with haunted mansion wallpaper. My daughter wants rainbow zebra stripes and my hubby may get a cover with a camo pattern.

Can you explain how you did that? Every time I tried to add a new image, the whole image got laid out over the entire band. For example, I am using haunted mansion wallpaper. I found a small image of the hitchhiking ghosts I wanted to add to the one side and every time I tried, the whole image was laid out across the entire band, covering up the wallpaper. If I cut away the background, it still happened. I even tried changing the layers and it always seemed to "enlarge" the image too. So even if I moved over the image, it still came out distorted. I tried shrinking the image in Paint and got the same result. :confused3

Phillymummer, if you don't mind me jumping in, I did mine in the following order: for the one piece band, first; I selected the color, then I selected 'add images', and under 'first image', I clicked on 'add image',and imported my saved picture from my computer, to place over the Mickey head. Once it appeared, I had to use the 'minus ' button to decrease it to the right size for that center spot, rotating as need with other arrows. Second, I selected ' second image ' from the drop down arrow under 'Add images' , clicked on 'add image', and imported my second piece of clip art to use on one side of the band, using the minus arrow to get it decreased to fit the band, and using the left and right arrows to position it on the band where you want it. Third; repeat above for the 'third image', and place your image on the other end of the band. Hope this helps.

That is very helpful, BBB! Thank you! I think i understand what to do!! I cant wait to play around with my images.

One more question- i am designing two piece band covers. Wil that make any difference?

I just went on the site and it worked the same. The first image I moved to one side of the band, the second image I moved to the other side , and just didn't need a third image.

I know how you feel about sharing the designs, I know you probably spent as much time on yours as I am on mine.

Mine are 2 piece band covers and they work basically the same...I do think you have a bit more freedom with moving the images around on them.

BBB did an excellent job of explaining the process...the more you play with it the easier it becomes.

I totally missed the "+" and "-" buttons when playing with images. I think I played around with images for my band for 2 hours today!! :faint:
But in the end, the original single image is still what I like the best!! Next up is my hubby's band and my daughter's band.

thank you again for the help!!

The bands are designed and ordered!
My band- haunted mansion wallpaper
Hubby's band- camo pattern
Daughter's band- 2 different olaf pictures- one on each side.

I'll post a pic when they arrive!

Question regard the design process - is there an easier way to see what the fonts look like when you add text, besides actually selecting each one? I find it's been very tedious! I wish they had a font list on their website with examples. Arrghhh...

I'm trying to design a Figment band, since there is NOWHERE to buy one!

Not that I discovered! I found It time consuming, as well.

There is another thread about magiv band covers on the themepark stategies forum. Someone from the company posted in it. You should ask your question there and see if you get a response.

When you look at the list of fonts the name is shown as a preview of what the font looks like.
