Day 7
We love Castaway Cay. We have only visited in August. It's pretty hot then. The weather this trip was perfect.
We brought our own snorkel gear and were the first ones in the lagoon. This made a huge difference as nothing was stirred up yet. The water was crystal clear. We saw alot of fish. Many of them followed us around and stayed just out of reach.
We were about 2/3 of the way to see the sunken Mickey when we discovered a baracuda about 2 1/2 feet long. He was just hanging out. I'm not sure if he had any buddies near by. I freaked when we saw one in St. Thomas years ago. This time I was fine - after all - he was a Disney baracuda and couldn't possibly hurt us - Right???!!!!!

After the lagoon started to get crowded, we went over to the adult beach and swam a while. The waters are so clear and beautiful. Have I mentioned this is the life I was born to live?

We ate at the adult beach - the minute steak sandwiches are very good. Of course we had a conch cooler - it was great.
After we had enough sun, we wandered back to the family beach and ate again. This time burgers and salad.

We then waddled back to the ship - and you guessed it - blue chairs, deck four - nap 5. Feeling slightly guilty about never even stepping foot in the fitness center, we decided to take pictures of us fake jogging to put in the book. They turned out pretty good.
Fooled our children. Ha

That evening was the Farewell Show. Michael Harrison was a riot. I regret not seeing him in Rockin "D". If we are fortunate enough to cruise again, and he is on board, we will definitely go to see him.

Dinner this night was the weak link. The chicken tenders were very good. The lobster and crawfish bisque was OK. DH had dry pork with a sauce he did not like. I asked for the filet to be medium rare. It was served more well done than I have ever seen. It was dry and really bad. We never told our servers. I know we should have, but they were sooo busy that night for some reason, and we were just too tired to care. You know fake jogging is hard work. We did have the chocolate decadence and it was very good - we split one - it's very rich.

We stayed on our verandah into the wee hours again. It was so hard knowing this was the last night and reality was a few hours away.

When we got home we discovered I had gained 4 pounds, DH had gained 7. We did take them off quickly though. It only took a few days of dressing up and sitting at our table waiting for Den and Alfonso. We finally caught on and started fending for ourselves again. Ha

In reviewing the post, I realize I've left out a few things:

High tea was great - I really enjoyed it and in spite of himself - so did DH.

The steel band on board was fantastic. We were impressed with all the entertainment. Disney has certainly improved in this area.

One day we ordered room service and had all hands on deck. It is a cheese platter with cheeses from around the world, crackers and grapes. We also ordered a fruit platter. This was great to have on hand and have a healthy snack for the next few days.

We accomplished what we needed. We both came back mentally stronger and fortified to face life's challenges.

To all future cruisers "Bon Voyage and God Bless":teeth:
