We got back from our first cruise on the Wonder on 3/11. We booked onboard for next year on the Magic. What are the main differences between the two ships? We liked the smaller size of the Wonder since it never felt crowded so we are hoping to get tha same experience on the Magic with a few differences. We are traveling with a 8 year old boy and a 13 year old girl, so different experiences for them is also a must.

Magic has AquaDunk; Avengers themes in Oceaneer's; a Concierge Lounge; Bibbidi Bobbiti Boutique; Fathoms (instead of Wavebands); O'Gills (instead of Diversions); Keys (instead of Cadillac Lounge); Carioca's (instead of Parrot Cay); Twist N Spout; Cabanas (instead of Beach Blanket); Nephew's Splash Zone; different quick serve locations; Chill Spa; Lumiere's (instead of Triton's).

The other difference is the number of unique shows offered on the Magic. On a 7 night cruise there are 5 separate Disney Broadway type shows, more than any other boat

Well, not really. Each ship has 3 production shows. If the cruise is longer than 3 nights there are 2 additional shows that can be added - the welcome aboard and the farewell shows. Those aren't really production shows like the others, however. A little bit of production and a sampling of the individual entertainment onboard for the cruise (comedians, jugglers, whatever).

The Magic has Tangled, Twice Charmed, and Dreams.

Wonder has Toy Story (for the time being), Golden Mickeys, and Dreams.

Golden Mickeys is also on the Dream, along with Villains Tonight and Believe.

The Fantasy has Aladdin, Wishes, and Believe, along with the Fantasy Come True (welcome aboard) and Unforgettable Journey (farewell) shows.

The Wonder and Magic are the exact same size. There are also difference in décor, but you will love it.

Cove cafe on the Magic is one story, not 2 like on the Wonder. For the most part the layout of the ships are very similar. But Magic had an extensive dry dock a couple years ago - then again last year iirc - and added the Aquadunk, revamped the pools and the kids clubs. If your kids liked the Wonder, they will love the Magic... Like the Wonder but on steroids! And Tangled is Fantastic!

One thing, they did relocate the Edge on the Magic. It is now where the arcade was, much smaller place, although not stuck on deck 2. I thought a little too small, but my 12 year old didn't mind...

I haven't been on the Dream, but it is the sister ship to the Fantasy, and I have sailed her. Beautiful ship with lots of bells and whistles, but I really prefer the size of the Magic (and Wonder). I have spent 33 nights in 3 cruises on the Magic and she is my favorite ship!

Originally they were the same size. Since the Magic had a major reimagining during a dry dock, it it now actually too large to go through the current Panama canal, leaving the Wonder as the only DCL ship that can make that crossing.

But, that is just due to the ducktail, which is under the water, right? As far as passenger spaces and cabins, which OP seems concerned about, they are basically the same. The Magic might have a few more inside cabins that took the place of the old Edge kids clubs, but as far as crowds and public spaces the Magic should have the same feel for her as the Wonder.

Oh, one more difference between the Magic and the Wonder--- the lobby on th Magic only has one staircase now.

The ducktail's definitely visible from above the water - lots of comparisons available on Google images. Regarding public spaces, I believe the Wonder still has the 'secret deck' on (I think) Deck 7? It's closed off to the public on the Magic now, it's been replaced with additional infrastructure for things like the AquaDunk.

They extended the buffet inside area and also the outdoor seating behind the buffet. So, besides the very different layout, Cabanas is larger than Beach Blanket Buffet.

Is this still true or have things changed since the Wonder's dry dock?

(I know it's a zombie thread but I didn't want to start a new one)

I had to look at the date on your post since most of the Disney Wonder names are no longer correct. Wavebands is now Azure, O'Gill's is now Crown and Fin, Parrot Cay is now Tiana's, and Beach Blanket is now Cabanas. And Disney Wonder now has a Concierge Lounge.

I’ll try.

Magic has AquaDunk (Mickeys Twist in Spout slide); Avengers themes in Oceaneer's; a Concierge Lounge (Now on Wonder too); Bibbidi Bobbiti Boutique (now n Wonder too); Fathoms (instead of Azure) O'Gills (instead of Crown & Finn); Keys (instead of Cadillac Lounge); Carioca's (instead of Tianas); Twist N Spout (now on wonder and larger) Cabanas (now on Wonder); Nephew's Splash Zone (Wonder has a splash area now but I don’t recall the name); different quick serve locations; Chill Spa; Lumiere's (instead of Triton's).

I'm pretty sure the quicks serve locations (Pete's, Pinocchio's, Daisy's) are the same between the two.

And doesn't the Magic have a Midship Detective Agency?? My daughter loves that and missed it on the Wonder.
