Magic Vacation Title System Outage

I think I'm dealing with this right now as well. I've been waiting on closing for a few weeks now. I understand outages happen, but its the lack of communication that makes me never want to work with this company again. They should be proactively communicating these things to their customers. Over this process, I have had to follow up weekly to get updates and received zero information other than waiting on sellers documents. Then finally last Thursday when I followed up, I was told we should be closing soon. From the timeline of other posts, they would've been in their system outage, so I would've appreciated a more honest response. Other communication issues include me having to ask them multiple times to verify my wire transfer was received.

What does “system outage” even mean in this context? It’s not like they’ve got rocket science going on to do what they have to do. They’re generating some form documents, coordinating signing and sending them to be filed. Fishy.

Well according to them everything is back up and running. I received my docs for closing.

We just got an email that said we're closed and "The new deed is sent to the county for recording"

This is our first resale, it has the same use year as our direct contract. I put my member number in the closing paperwork. Do I have to contact DVC about adding it to my existing membership? Or will it do it automatically? Also is it better to call then to chat?

TIA

I would say its going to take about 7-10 days before I would reach out to them.. I did three resales in a matter of weeks of one another and each I did reach out after the initial email you got and each time I was told to wait, then I reached out again and it was added.

It would do it automatically but i was impatient after how long the other part of the process took.

The resort will show up on your dashboard first (took about 20 days from deed recording for me last month). Once that happened I did an online chat. The points showed up the next morning.

I agree that some communication would be helpful. It looks like they have had another outage situation. I reached out last week to ask about closing documents and found out they were down again. I am hoping they resolve the issues soon and that I do not have more issues like you have experienced with the wire transfers.

Received notice that Magic Vacation Title has had a system outage for a week and has pushed sending documents for closings out.

Hope that isn't a sign of a bigger issue at that title company.
I found out about another outage last week. Having been in IT, I know outages will and do happen from time to time. However, I do worry about the implications if this is a sign of a bigger problem.
