Magic Special 5 Day Sailing 9-1-08

hope your cruise goes great enjoy it, I think a mystery cruise would be kind of fun :lmao:. Have you met Luke, if not you should try he is really awesome :cool1: and last I heard he was on board

Andy......so Hazel gets a surprise cruise and a mystery cruise at the same time!!!

Was Thursday to be your day at sea and now you have two days at sea?

I'm so sorry you can't visit CC the second time. For the Wonder double dip cruises there was a different menu at Cookies BBQ on the second CC day and the food was quite good.

Sorry you're hearing noise next door in the early morning. I can sympathize - we stayed mid ship on deck 8 last month and every night heard the 5am scrapping noises of the furniture being moved on deck 9.

Hi Andy and Hazel,

Sounds like the mystery cruise is going well. We'll be on the Magic on the 24th right out of dry dock to celebrate Lindsay's 21st birthday. Can't wait.

Wishing everyone smooth sailing.

Bev

Captain Tom just made an announcement as we were getting ready to leave Nassau. Because of Hanna our course has now changed and the mystery now begins. We will NOT be heading for our second Castaway Cay day on Friday. It is predicted that Hanna will pass to the east of Castaway Cay and Nassau on Friday, and predicted to make landfall in South Carolina on Saturday. Captain Tom said we are headed to the Straights of Florida. It was reported that Hanna is getting stronger and larger.

As far as today goes, Hazel and I went into Nassau to do a little shopping. We picked up a couple of t-shirts for our daughter and also a few 18th Birthday gifts for her as well. So, Lina when you read this, you will have to wait until we arrive home to find out what these surprise gifts are, but we know you will like them, love you sweetie.

We had lunch at Topsiders this afternoon, then went to see Wall-E at 3pm, but by 3:30 we were leaving the Buena Vista Theatre as we were both falling asleep. We arrived back at our cabin and took a nap until Captain Tom came on with his announcement.

We have dinner in about one hour, tonight we will be back in Animator’s Palate for Pirate Night.

I guess that’s the latest for now, feel free to follow along for the rest of our mystery cruise.

Hi Andy

Just as we were leaving our cabin this morning we ran into Derrick. He is on our floor and he starts at the cabin two doors down from us and is working in the other direction from our cabin.

I'll bet he was just tickled to see you! We asked about him last time and Alvin (?) told us right where to find him. We went down to say hello and at first he couldn't place us... but then I recounted the story of our room key(s) not working for about an hour one night and he immediately remembered. Such a nice guy!

That's a short way to say hang out between Florida and Cuba. Not as far east as Key West but far enough south to avoid the weather. Sorry everyone is going to miss the 2nd Castaway day but if the seas are too high, you can't dock anyway. You'll enjoy and extra sea day in pretty weather.

That makes sense if they were in Nassau today. Just keep heading south to seek calm seas.

Hey, it will make for a bigger jackpot bingo prize.

Brent stated tonight at the show that we are now headed southwest in the area on the Florida Keys to stay away from Hanna. Tomorrow is a scheduled sea day anyhow, so we will see where we go from there on Friday......:confused3

Still having a great time and enjoying the ship no matter where we go......;) :thumbsup2

So is Brent the CD on the Magic now? I heard he took off for a bit for a vacation (and to get married if the rumors are true). Do you know if he'll still be on the Magic after dry dock?

I hope even though a detour is in the works that you have a fabulous time! My DH and I were supposed to be on that cruise, but sadly had to cancel. I am hoping to get on another one very very soon!! :) I am definitely enjoying your blog!

good you'll be back on dry ground before Ike hits...he's looking pretty scary right now...he strengthened to a category 4 overnight...
but they're still predicting that hanna will strengthen back to hurricane force as she starts to finally move north...

Brent is the CD on your cruise?
Christiaan was the CD on our EB repo last week. Who is you asst. CD? Ours was Darren.

I had Derrick as my room Host on the Eastbound Panama Canal, he was great and so much fun to talk to.

Christiaan must be physically exhausted after the EB PC cruise. Sounds like he had to deal with a lot of issues going on.

Hopefully he's home relaxing with his wife.

Andy,

Hope you stay safe. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll stop at Key West for some time.

Yes, Brent did get married. We were talking to Christian while on the EB Repo. He mentioned that he covered for Brent while he took off for his wedding and Brent will cover for Christian when his wife has their baby (yes, Christian and his wife are having a child. She is due in January).

Blog is updated, good night from the Disney Magic........:wave2:

Good Morning from the Rocking and Rolling Magic,

I have been awake sine 3am this morning. I woke up when I heard my nightstand drawer open and then heard something fall off one of the shelves in our cabin.

I ventured up to deck 9 after Goofy’s Galley opened up a 7am to get Hazel and I a light breakfast of fruit and yogurt. While on my way, I captured some photos and video of the waves in the ocean and also of the waves in the Adult and Goofy pools.

I am sitting here watching the Report from the Bridge on our cabin TV, at the present time, the waves are reported to be High at 20-30 feet, and I for one, believe that report!!! LOL!!! We must be in some of the outer bands of Hanna, and I think we can kiss our second stop at Castaway Cay good-bye for this cruise, especially since we were supposed to dock around 8am and we are over 60 nautical miles away from Castaway Cay at the present time. I just checked the Report from the Bridge again, and we are even farther away from Castaway cay as I type this. When I first checked we were 61 nautical miles away, now we are 66 nautical miles away from Castaway Cay. By the looks of things on the TV we are now headed on a southwest direction towards the Straights of Florida once again. That’s not an official report, I’m just going by what I see on our cabin TV.

I will try and post an updated report later as time and my internet minutes allow.
