I find very little references to these packages....do they not work out as a good value when purchased as the all in one? Pros & cons please for a first time planner. Thanks!!

The Magic My Way packages are typically for a room reservation, a ticket purchase and the dining plan. There is a $200 deposit when you book this package. You can also book a room and include the tickets, without the dining plan, and make it a package, (although I'm not sure why someone would do this.) When you have the MYM package you have to pay for your trip in full by 45 days out. And there is a $200 cancellation fee if you cancel within a certain amount of days (I'm sorry I don't remember how many days it is - maybe 30?.) The MYM package also comes with a few perks, including luggage tags and discount coupons.

If you book a room only reservation you only have to pay for the first night. The balance is due at check in. The cancellation policy is much more generous. You can cancel up to five days ahead of check in date and get a full refund. You can also buy tickets without making it a package. You would pay in full for the tickets at time of purchase, but the tickets are fully refundable if you cancel your room reservation. We also book a room only reservation and then buy our tickets later. We like the flexibility. :)

I'm also curious to know if having my Disney Visa will allow me a discount on a package AND if you book a package and than Disney offers Free Dining for when your there - will they discount your package the amount of the dining plan?

Because not everyone wants the dining plan. I've always booked a package, but never had the dining plan.

There's no discount for Disney Visa cardholders; they do however offer 6 months interest-free financing on packages. In fact, if you make payments on the package, you get the interest-free financing on each payment as long as each payment is at least $101. If a discount is offered for your dates after you've booked, you can call and see if the discount can be applied, but there are a limited number of rooms available with any discount, so you might not be able to have it applied.

I was just logged in and looking at my Chase online account and under Rewards it shows 15-30% off select resorts (from moderate to deluxe).
