Hi everyone!

Has anyone ever been to the Magic Music Days for dance?

I was curious about how long they will be backstage in the classes. My dd is dancing on Nov. 10th with her studio but unfortunately they are not giving out the most helpful information. They said anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours backstage.

My ds4 is developing a plan (in his own 4 year old way!):rotfl2: to hit as many of the boy rides as he can with mommy and daddy while his sister is not with us and I would love to tell him what time frame we have. :teacher: Not that he will actually comprehend the time allowance but maybe we could steer his expectations into more realistic goals. :rotfl: As it stands right now we need 2 full days without sister! :lmao: :lmao:

So you see any information would be helpful if you have done this before.

Thanks! :cool2:

We did this last year on the December dates.

If memory serves, the day of the parade, she had a full dress rehearsal (costume, make-up, hair, etc) at 9am until about 11 or 11:30 in the Disneyland Hotel, then we had to drop them "backstage" by 2 or 3pm (backstage drop off point is somewhere on the trail behind Big Bhunder Mountain). In the park, they had to wear their regular clothes, and they changed into their costumes backstage. This is Disney's policy to help maintain the magic. Of course, you see all these young girls (my DD turned 8 on that trip) running aroung in full stage make up with regualr clothes on, so it is pretty ridiculous!

Then the Magical Musical dance parade went right before the second parade (~6pm, I think). We watched it from right near It's A Small World (near the Fantasyland entrance to the trail). Pick up point was the "theater" type area on that same trail. Be warned, pick up was an absolute nightmare!! Poorly planned and executed. No lights and they desperately needed a bull horn or mike to be heard. Patience is definitely a virtue during pick up!

There may be more details in the trip report link in my signature.

Feel free to ask any questions, and I'll see if I remember!

Thanks. They are performing on the Carnation Stage and are taking classes backstage. I dont have a clue how long the classes last.

It looks like your program is a bit different. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

I will tell you this, our studio was not very forthcoming on details either last year. And I don't believe that was the studio's fault. The studio owner and I joke all the time on how we are both anal retentive planners and how frustrating it can be dealing with people who are not! I got the feeling she was passing on to us what she had, but wasn't getting much from Disney or the Magical Musical Days people.
