Magic Morning question

We are headed to Disneyland later this week. I have heard that you can get into the park, at least the main street area about a half an hour prior to the normal opening time of the park. Is this still true? For the magic morning day, are we still able to get into the park (main street area) earlier than when the park officially opens? This weekend, the park hours are 8am until midnight. We aren't sure if we should do the magic morning early entry on Saturday or Sunday, but I just was curious how early we should be/could be at the front gates.

Also, I purchased the etickets, and I am wondering what the "real" tickets will look like when we trade in our etickets for the real ones? I shouldn't say what they look like, but are they just flimsy paper tickets or are they laminated with plastic or anything? Thanks!

Generally, they do open Main Street to guests 30 minutes prior to park opening, but I have been there on days where they didn't open up the turnstiles until 10 minutes before park opening, so that's more of a guildeline than a rule. If it is a MM day, there will be turnstiles that are for guests using their MM and they go through the park and walk into the park on the sidewalk which is roped off from the rest of Main St. - that way there is a separation from those using their MM and those that are just standing on Main St. before the park opens.

The "real tickets" are about the size of a credit card and are just the flimsy paper tickets with a bar code on the back.
