Hi Everyone

I have a question and I would love to get your opinion.....

I have two days at the parks at the beginning of April. We definitely are doing Magic Kingdom one day.

My question is....I have a 4 1/2 yr old, would you use the second day at Magic Kingdom again or would you go to Animal Kingdom.

I don't know much about AK, was it worth it? especially for a 4 yr old.

Thanks So Much
Kim

i would take him to AK if he's interested in animals, since you get to interact with animals and is more suited for little kids rides in my opinion! but it can be a really short stay there, if you have a hopper you might want to return to MK after AK :flower:

My 4 year old loved AK as well as the whole family. There are of course shows and the rides are good for that age as well.

I would go to MK the first day and see how "far" you get. If you get to experience "enough" and you're happy with the day, then go to AK the second day. If you discover that you need to go back to MK, then I'd go there. If I were making PS's, I'd make them for both locations the second day, then cancel one as soon as I knew which location I were going to.

I think it depends on the child. My kids love AK, they love animals and shows (tarzan rocks, Lion King and Pocohantis), and the parade, although they only have two rides my kids could do, I let ride them multiple times. They also like the carnival area, and we spend lots and lots of time in the Dino Dig sand playground area. Although I know lots of people do this park in a couple of hours or half days, we usually take the full day.
But if you find your bored split the 2nd day with AK/MK it might be worth the money, because it's difficult to do MK with a 4 yr. old in one day, so you get a little more MK time and get to experience AK also.

Scrunchie,

Ask your child what she would like!! or take her to one of the water parks.
Though if you go to AK, book Donald's breakfasouras, for breakfast. It's really cool!!!

If your child LOVES animals,I would go to AK.If not, either MK or another park-possibly Epcot.

I would make the decision after the first day at MK also. You could easily spend two days there and it's so much fun for a 4 yr old. If I had an extra day and wanted to go somewhere else, I would choose Epcot over AK. AK is a good park, it just doesn't have as much to do for a 4 yr old.

Like the previous posters, I think I would see all I could see at the Magic Kingdom and then make my decision. Our family, personally, would not miss the Animal Kingdom. It is a day of much more leisurely touring. Our children (ages 1 and 10) when we first started going (have been every year for 9 years) and they absolutely love it.

Hope you have a great time, Lisa

Is this your child's first time at the MK ?? If it is, then you will need a 2nd day at MK. Otherwise, you will be running yourself ragged trying to get it all done. Why don't you add the park hopper option to your tickets that way the 2nd day you could day half at the MK and the rest at the AK. Or vice versa.

My kids personally aren't over the top with the AK. They are 18,15,10 and 6. But it all depends on your child.

We have been numerous times and our favorite park is the MK. We always spend 2-3 days there. You may not get it all done in one day. I would consider a hopper and go to MK first day, AK during the am on the second day and back to MK to finish.

If he is interested in animules (animals), I would certainly do AK. If not, I would go back to MK.

:) Neither...I'd go to Epcot. I know that isn't much help, but my kids love Epcot.

If I only had those 2 parks as a choice I would go to MK.

Have a great time either way!
