greetings,
i'm not on the boards as much as i would like so pardon me if repetative, just got back from wdw and was surprised to find a major tree trimming in the magic kingdom. town square and around walt and mickey at the end of main street. when and why? last trip may '02.

Wow, didn't know that. Now I feel like I should have watched the show... especially if poor, innocent trees were slaughtered for it! :rotfl:
 
I was being kind when i refered to this as a "trimming", more like a removal
 

They were removed for Wishes...You have to be able to see the castle from down Main Street, so they were removed somewhere near the end of '03, best I can remember.
 
I know what you mean. We were there in summer '03 and loved the shade of the trees in front of the castle. They were gone in the summer of '04. It looked really strange to us. We went back and looked at old pictures to confirm the difference.

Anyway, we asked and they don't cut the trees (they said). They dig them up and move them to another park or to their greenhouse/plant farm??? area. This is what we were told, so take it for what it's worth.
