Hi.

We will be having my BFF and her mom join my mom and me in Disney in September. They are having two full park days (Epcot and MK) and their arrival day, they are to land at 9:00 am and we are taking it easy, by GF pool, 7 pm dinner ressies at GF Cafe, stroll to Poly, and perhaps take monorail to BLT to have a drink at ToTW. Both moms will be using a scooter (both active, 73 and 81). My friend and I are 52 and we are active and walking and backtracking will not matter to us.

Please can you take a look at below and let me know what you think of the Touring Plan for our Magic Kingdom day (7 am EMH and closes at 6:00 pm):

It is correct, I cannot start with FPs until 8 am, correct?

Get monorail from GF at 6:00 am.

RD Peter Pan
Pooh
Small World
Haunted (This opens at 8:00 am, is that correct?)
Pirates (Hoping this won't be too crowded yet)
9:15 am -10:15 am FP Jungle Cruise
10:15 am - 11:15 am FP Splash
People Mover
11:15 am - 12:15 pm Buzz
I am hoping when I tap into one attraction I can move the next one up.
Carousel of Progress
Eat Counter Service
Tiki Birds (Maybe)
Mickeys Philamagic
Hall of Presidents
Leave the park to go back to GFVs and rest.

7:00 pm Dinner at Wine Bar George

Thank you very much. We do not care about back tracking just want to try to get as much stuff done without too many lines.

I don't get to go often enough to be able to tell you whether or not this plan looks reasonable, but I'm commenting to "bump" your question back up to the top of the page so hopefully more folks will see it and respond.

Have a wonderful trip!

I'll give you my thoughts - I'm not a touring plan order expert but I am around your age (mid-50's) and I use an ECV when at WDW so a few things come to mind for the two older ladies using ECV's. I have two very badly arthritic knees that need replacing - some days are better than others but generally I can walk short distances and with a FP for some rides I can do the que (like Buzz Lightyear I can walk the que with a FP). Is the park closing at 6 because of the MNSSHP? Just curious. Do you think they'd enjoy that? It's my most favorite event I've done at WDW - love that party and I'd rather do the party than anything you have planned in the day lol!

What are the issues that the two ECV users have? If it's related to mobility and/or knee issues there are 2 rides on there that I have trouble with - Splash and Small World. The Splash boats are hard to get in and out of and put my knees higher than my hips which causes a good bit of pain/discomfort. Next time I try Splash I might ask for my own seat so I can move my legs to the side and see if that helps (not sure if the CM's let people do that - just a thought). Also the boats on Small world have the same kind of low seat. There's a boat that takes a wheel chair and has different kind of seats. People have said those seats are just as low but I have a much easier time with them - maybe just more room in front. I've taken the ECV down to the Small World boats and just walked on to the special boat. I don't seem to have as many problems with Pirates but others do.

Several rides the two ECV users will need to transfer to a WC because you cannot take an ECV in the que - can the two daughters push the chairs ok? Haunted, Pirates, Buzz you have to transfer to a WC for the que. The People Mover doesn't have either option and they will need to walk - that moving ramp type escalator is really tough for me in the downward direction - will they have problems? something to think about. I can walk the Pirates que with a FP and HM (or I just don't ride it lol) - not sure how the WC's are handled there but I know you can't take the ECV.

You may want to post on the disAbilities board with your touring plan and ask for input there. I go to WDW a fair amount and tend to ride things I have a FP for - and I use the refresh strategy to get more FP after my first 3 are done.

Hi there! Have you checked out sites like Pinterest to see a good “one day itinerary for MK”? I find those to be helpful to give you a good basic plan for what to do. If you’re at MK for EMH, I wouldn’t personally get fastpasses until 10:00 am. I would try and get some of the newer/higher demand rides done first and then if you want to ride them again plan to get fastpasses for them around 10 (of course getting the fastpasses way in advance of your trip). For example: we do Seven Dwarfs at rope drop, and some of the others in the area, and plan to do our other favorites in high demand starting at like 10.

I hope this makes sense!

I highly recommend touringplans.com for creating personalized touring plans.

First, great planning to go to MK on a party day when it closes at 6pm b/c those are lower crowd days - yay! Second, I do believe you are correct FP start at 8am after EMH are over. Third, yes, Haunted Mansion would open at 8....only Fantasyland and a Tomorrowland attractions are open for EMH.

Given the information you have above, it looks like a great plan. I think your times for fastpasses will fall right in line.

I would recommend hitting those last attractions in this order ...1) Mickeys PhilharMagic, then 2) Hall of Presidents, then 3) Tiki to minimize walking, though. Plus, if tiki is a “maybe”, you can decide to scrap it and easily leave since it is last on the list. Consider getting a dole whip while over by tiki.

Also, I know you said you don’t mind Criss crossing, but just keep in mind September can be quite hot/humid, which can quickly drain motivation to go as far as you normally would. But your plan doesn’t have what I consider much Criss crossing as it is (esp. if you do those last 3 attractions in the order I mentioned).

Just make sure you google the best route to Peter Pan for rope drop, and I think you are set!

Wish I could take a trip with my a BFF and our moms. My mom (75) has been in the hospital for most of June. Embrace the time....even if your plans go awry. Have a great trip!!!

Thank you Katie. That was very nice of you.

Thank you. My bff and I are in very good shape so the walking will be fine. Actually, the moms are in good shape too although walking the long distances and keeping up with my friend and I would be more challenging without the ECV, so they will both rent one.
My mom rents a scooter for all our Disney trips and parks her scooter and walks, although she takes up to the loading area of Soarin and instead of parking, takes through the line at the Land and then the CM takes the scooter. Everywhere else, she parks and walks and the other mom will be able to do the same. Thank you for all your help.

Thank you very much. I'll adjust the FP times. I never look on Pinterest. Yes, it all makes sense, thank you! :)

Thanks. I have TPs. Guess I'll do that now or tomorrow. I should have just done that from the beginning but wanted to also ask on the dis :)

I'll change up the last three attractions, makes sense. Thank you so much! Yes, I am lucky. I can leave my dh at home (kids are older) and travel with my mom to Disney each September and we also cruise together and she comes away with my family. I'm lucky. I am so sorry about your mom in the hospital. I hope she is on the road to recovery. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me, I appreciate it!

Looks good - I might consider a FP for Peter instead of doing RD if you can then go to Pooh and Small world leisurely and maybe have time for Little Mermaid (if interested). It would be easier than getting through RD with 2 scooters as you may end up back further than you would like.

Other than that very doable - agree you might want to change order on the last 3 and now they allow the Dole Whip inside the Tiki room!

If I RD Pooh and then we go over to PP and do Peter Pan and then Small World, will the line for Peter Pan (immediately after Pooh) be longer than 15 minutes by that time?

I will be done with FL by 8:00 am and will then RD to Frontier Land.

If I RD Frontier Land, can I do:
Standby Haunted
8:30 am - 9:30 am FP for Splash
Standby Pirates
9:30 am - 10:30 am FP Jungle Cruise
10:30 am - 11:30 am - FP Buzz
People Mover
Carousel of Progress
Get something to eat, counter service
Hall of Presidents
Mickeys Philharmagic
Tiki

Thank you.

Hi.

Just hoping a few of you can still take a look at this plan (the revised or "old" one) since I need to finalize today for the FP day this week.

Thank you so much!
