Magic Kingdom To Grand Floridian Walkway!

I wonder how long of a walk this will be. GF/Poly people, how long is the walk between resorts? It looks like it would be a lengthy walk from Poly to MK.

I wonder if they'll ever build a walking path from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom. It would be about a mile walk along World Drive, and there is a sidewalk along one section.

I would venture to guess from Poly it would be over a mile depending on where you stayed at Poly. Just looked at google maps walking directions and it's .7 miles from Poly lobby to the GF boat Dock. It's half a mile from the Spirit of Aloha show to the boat dock. To put it in perspective it's about half a mile to seven tenths from CR to MK depending on where your room is at the Contemporary. Walking from GF to MK seems like a benefit, walking from Poly, especially if you're close to TTC, seems like a longer haul. If you're on the NW side of Poly then not as bad. Likely not much different than walking from one of the crescent lake resorts to DHS.

I expect a lot of people at Poly and even TTC will just walk to and from the MK. I know I would if the lines for the monorail and ferry are long or I was not in too much of a hurry. In fact, I am more likely to stay at the Poly now with the walking option. I love the ferries, but know that in the morning, I would appreciate a relaxed walk in, especially if it is earlier in the morning.

Definitely can’t beat walking. We love boardwalk and beach club for that reason. That mode of transportation never has a wait or goes down for inclement weather 😂

Adding together the walking distance from GF to the canal, and the canal to MK, it should be about half a mile.

The walk from TTC to GF is just about a mile.

Looks like ~1.25 miles from the MK boat dock to the Poly main building. So probably a 30-45 minute walk I'm guessing.

I used Google maps measuring feature and followed the path (made it up between where the path ends and GF).

Thanks, I figured it would be a bit of a hike, but regardless, it's always great to have multiple transportation options.

Exactly!
We really appreciate the ability to walk to as many parks as possible, hence our preference for the Epcot resorts. However I think this is a perfect excuse to add GF to the list pf places we've stayed at.

It would just have to be from WL to CR,but the problem would be going under the Water Bridge with cars whizzing by.

Maybe a pedestrian bridge over the water? Obviously it would have to be pretty high.

Hopefully someone will confirm that this is true or not, but I think the maintenance & repair dock for the ferries is on Bay Lake, north of BLT. If so, a bridge over the water bridge would have to be way too high to be practical for pedestrians or any kind of traffic. That’s why there is a water bridge over the roadway!

There is walkway under the Water Bridge. As you towards the TTC it end just past the Monorail Beams heading towards the Contemporary.

I think the hard part now is getting around the TTC
