I understand this might get moved to the restaurant section but decided to post here since this forum sees more activity, I'm still trying to find oout the price for this

Beginning Jan. 12 through Feb. 22, day Guests at Magic Kingdom Park will be able to purchase a one-day quick-service meal plan as part of the Disney Dine-on-the-Go test. Guests who purchase this 1-Day Disney Dine-on-the-Go plan will receive certificates redeemable for the following at participating Magic Kingdom Park QSR locations:

  • One lunch quick-service meal* that includes one (1) entrée and one (1) non-alcoholic single-serving beverage (may be used only until 4 p.m.)
  • One dinner quick-service meal* that includes one (1) entrée and one (1) non-alcoholic single-serving beverage (may be used from 4 p.m. until close)
*Dessert is not included in the meal.

Both adult and child (ages 3-9) certificates are available for purchase.

This test will take place only at the following Magic Kingdom QSR locations:

  • Casey’s Corner
  • Columbia Harbour House
  • Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
  • Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn and Café
  • Pinocchio Village Haus
  • Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant
Guests may purchase the Disney Dine-on-the-Go plan only at Magic Kingdom Vacation Planning booths and Magic Kingdom Guest Relations. And certificates must be redeemed within 14 days of purchase

Interesting. I don't really see a value to the guest.

The price may be the telling factor as to why.

If it "appears" to be reasonable, it locks in folks to longer hours in the park,

and they already banked two meals of money.

Universal and SeaWorld do it but I don't think there is need to compete.

Price will determine if it's a value for the Guest.

It has no other value .... unless it has it's own line, especially during busy times.

The plan is a value for Disney since 2 meals will keep you in park longer, and guarantees you bought 2 meals.

PS. Love that the meals are color coded. Disney actually closing a loop in advance, impressive.

quick math tells me it cuts it pretty even, no discount at all, we don't order drinks just water so we will not use this

They probably want to stop all the "water" orders, so they figure this is the best way while making top dollar...

Of course, watch for all these locations to increase their entree costs $2-3 in the next few weeks to make this plan have more "value" - you know it's coming, b/c this is Iger Disney...

Okay, price checking this based on what my family would eat at MK.

Me for lunch: broccoli peppercorn salad at CHH ($9.99) and ice water (free)
Me for dinner: hot dog meal with fries at Casey's ($8.99) and ice water (free)
Total = $18.98 = not a good value

DH for lunch: anchors away sandwich at CHH ($10.49) and ice water (free)
DH for dinner: foot-long barbecue slaw dog at Casey's ($12.29) and ice water (free)
Total = $22.78 = not a good value

DD4 for lunch: macaroni and cheese at CHH ($6.49) [actually, she always get the Uncrustable there, but we'll go with something pricier for comparison]
DD4 for dinner: hot dog meal at Casey's ($8.99) and ice water (free)
Total = $15.48 = good value

Now, these are a bit skewed. We don't drink soda when we're walking around a theme park - we usually get get ice water and use it to fill up our water bottles. Also, the thing making my DD's meal package a good value is that Casey's doesn't have separately priced kids meals. Therefore, we probably wouldn't buy this as there doesn't seem to be an added convenience factor.

ETA: I see someone else mentioning Disney raising QS prices in order to price match on this and create more value, and that is definitely something I see them doing.

Would have more value if they at least included an all day soft drink kind of program.....

The regular price of the QS DDP for a day is $44. But for that you also get a snack and the resort mug.

So they take away the last two items and drop the price $14.

I don't get why anyone would bother.
