So I’m handling everything for mien and my sisters trip in October. We want to do a table service restaurant for dinner on our MK day. I’m struggling with making a decision on what would be the best option for the money being spent. We were considering Be Our Guest or Cinderella’s Royal table, but I’ve heard the food is not worth the money spent. Any recommendations?

TBH, I'm not a huge fan of any of the MK TS restaurants. Maybe look at Skipper Canteen if you want to stay in the park? Otherwise, would you consider leaving the park? I've got some favorites at the three monorail resorts and Wilderness Lodge if you would be amenable to leaving.

I'm not a fan of the food at BoG or CRT. The decor inside both restaurants are wonderful, but they rely on location more than the food to bring people in.

Inside MK, depending on how adventurous you are with food, maybe Skipper Canteen would be a good choice? Other than that, maybe hop on The Monorail to find some very excellent restaurants along that route. California Grill, Steakhouse 71 and Citricos have been getting great reviews.

We are definitely open to leaving and trying a restaurant at one of the closer resorts. We do plan on trying Kona one morning for breakfast.

That’s what I’ve been seeing a lot online is that the quick services often are better than TS restaurants.

Even if you like the food, it is absolutely not worth the money. When you eat in either BOG or CRT you are paying for the experience. If you are not happy with that, then you need to find an alternative.

If you are looking at more high end dining, I might look at dining at the MK resorts nearby. California Grill, Citricos, maybe?

If you want to get fancy, California Grill at CR is one of my favs. Citricos at GF is also nice. If you want to go more casual, Geyser Point at WL is an outdoor covered lounge with great drinks and good food. It's TS but it doesn't take reservations. Also a little more casual is Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary. I haven't personally eaten at the restaurant, but lots of people seem to like it.

We did Cinderella's and everyone in my party of 7 loved the food. It was definitely insanely expensive but we really enjoyed it.

Thanks! I’ll definitely look at these

We ate at Skipper Canteen last week and found it excellent. It’s not bland, typical theme park food; definitely more “adult” feeling then other MK options. It’s the closest thing in park to a foodie restaurant but not pretentious at all. Service was good and the theming is great.

Here are some pics.

If you don't mind leaving the park, Steakhouse 71 is easy to get to (walk to CR), casual and good. With slightly more effort, you could do any of the restaurants at CR, WL, GF or Poly. Citricos at GF is outstanding, but it's a signature, so a little pricier and slightly fancier. Whispering Canyon at WL is also good, casual and fun.

I was underwhelmed by skipper canteen. The theming is decent but I don't think we'll go back there.

But all of the food in MK is meh, so it might be the least meh?

We ate at skipper canteen, liberty tree, CRT and BOG. CRT was breakfast, so I'll discount that.

I liked the food at BOG but they do not have enough servers for a place that size (our waiter kept falling into a black hole)

We're actually more likely to return to LTT, the food was decent and our service was good.

If you want to stay in the park, then LTT or Skippers Cantina would be my suggestions.
Outside the park, there are many more options just on the monorail line.
California Grill, Citricos, Narccoossees (if it has reopened by then) are good choices.

We invariably eat at the Grand Floridian Cafe on our MK days. It's a quick boat ride from MK and the food and atmosphere are quite nice. Definitely not a foodie sort of place, though, if that's what you're looking for.

Inside MK, we sometimes eat at Skipper Canteen and have a Dole Whip afterward.

As others have mentioned, BOG is just OK. It is more for the decor and eating inside the Beast's Castle. My family prefered the meal years ago - prior to the change to the pre-fix. As for Cinderella's Castle, we ate there several years ago & felt it was not worth the price. Last summer we ate at Skipper (we had also dined here several trips prior as well) and felt the food quality had declined.

We have dined at Cali Grill and have had wonderful meals & watching the fireworks from there is such a different prespective. Whispering Canyon @ WL is a good option as well. The Hoop-dee-Do will be re-opening in June, if that is something that sounds interesting to you.

This summer, on our MK days we are leavig the park for our table service meals. We are trying Steakhouse '71 dinner, O'hana late breakfast, Geyser Point @ WL (our favorite QS) and Citrico's.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I’m going to look into all of them and see what menus appeal to is both
