Magic Kingdom Swap - Progress - MORE MAILED ON 4/14!!!

Great work MT!!!

Thanks for showing them, I was over complicating my letters.

Do you think I over simplified mine? I tend to lean toward keeping it simple... Plus I wanted to use atleast black or white once in all my letters, so that if you wanted to cut the rest of the word it would match...

Got any ideas for Magic?
S :)

checking in.

My room is covered up in 8th grade dance supplies but I will have those out on Tuesday. My goal is to get working on this in the coming week but DH is home and we have our deposition on Wednesday (hopefully) so I'm not sure what will get done.

8th Grade dance? What is the theme?
S :)

For Magic the hat most definitely, or the brooms. Ideas from Philharmagic or Fantasia.
No yours are not simplified, they are prefect!! I started out with a collage for Main Street but it wasn't meshing well. I'm thinking of Gingerbread scrolls to represent the architecture or a pole for the barber shop.

Not sure what the theme is this time. But we have 5 bins and 1 garbage bag of supplies so I bought a few clear bins and sorted by theme. I now have Christmas, Halloween (three bins) luau, food supplies and power supplies all sorted, ready to be labeled and brought back.

What about the street lamp?

SOunds like you are becoming the organizational queen... do you want to come to my house next?

Oh, street lamp would be cool!! And I might have one on the Winter Woodland cart, need to go look.

I'll be right over, I can organize other people's things, I just can't organize my own!! I need to be on Clean House! LOL

MickeyTeacher, the Parade letter is fantastic! I think your letters are perfect and not simplified.

For Magic, maybe stars, or pixie dust (glittery), Sorceror Mickey???

BAMB, your ideas for Main Street sound good. That's a hard one to do, I think. I really like the lamp post idea.

Oh, Buffy, do you have that Main Street stack from DCWV? It has some silhouette papers in that would work great for Main Street.

MT , thanks for sharing your altered letters. I really like the Belle and Parade. I was thinking pixie dust or stars as well for Magic.

Great letters, Mickeyteacher! I am working on mine today. I have one finished and one designed. I really like making them too!

Morgansmom -- good idea - -the main st stack would be perfect!

TIP

For those using patterned paper: make sure you think about how the letter will cut -- I almost cut a whole bunch of Ts with upside Mickey heads!

:rotfl2: I've done that more than once. Especially with tags. I never think about it until the first one is cut.

MT - What about the sorcerer hat from the Paper Dolls cart done in blue and silver?

I love, love, love making these altered letters. They're so much fun!
The parade letter is great just the way it is. I don't get that one :sad2:, but I'm getting Belle and the mickey I. :yay: YEAH!!!!

TIP 2

Unless you have real dial size on, there is a good chance you won't get a 4 inch letter. But, if you do have on the real dial size, the shadow won't match up right. I have been working in CDS -- to get a 4 inch C in the Winter Woodlands font, I need to cut at 5". I needed 4.5 inches for T in the Mickey font.

Not too much work to figure it out if you have CDS, but really pain if you don't. I can check sizes for those without CDS. Just send me a pm and indictate the letter and font you want me to check.

Hmm, I didn't even think to measure my "Y". It is 4-1/4 with the shadow using the Mickey font.

I may use my SCAL to ensure the proper size on the rest of the letters.

:rotfl2:
I can't measure the letter. All the edges are covered. I can only measure the back of the shadow.
:rotfl2:
