Magic Kingdom swap - COMPLETE

I will update everything later today. We got 2 1/2 inches of rain on Saturday night into Sunday and then sunday night it changed to snow. Another 10 inches! And now it is getting really warm today. I'm on the lookout for flooding today because the creek behind the house was already at maximum capacity.

Can it just be summer-time yet?

I have a question for those in group O:

NutzforDisney
mommy2mrb
tyniknate
Ohana4

I cut everything for my group (Monorail)...I made the 2 mats, a title, a quote and a monorail piecing...after cutting it I was reading some information on the monorail system. The purple monorail has been retired. I don't know when it was retired, but it is. Well, guess what? My accent color I chose (since there are so many colors I wanted to limit it to just one) is purple. Is everyone ok with this since it has been retired or would you rather me re-cut with an active monorail color?

Thanks!

Erin

oh my goodness!!!! I hated to see the dusting of snow I woke up to yesterday...I couldn't imagine 10 inches!

We already have another flood watch in effect for Thursday into Friday...the good part is that down here in Lancaster, the grass is finally turning green! Spring is on it's way!

Here's hoping the next impending rain maker will skip your area of PA, Danielle!

Unfortunately we are expected to get another 1.5 to 2" this Thurs night -Sat morning. At this rate I should be building an ark!

I was online checking out the silhouette. Seems you cant see what it can cut until you buy it and register it? Does this sound right? I'd love to see what it can do, but I can't see the images.

Susan - Thanks so much for taking the angel spots for me. Your work is wonderful, as usual. I especially love the toontown title and the castle set!

LeeAnn - Your pieces are fantastic. The Main St. USA is unbelievable - how on earth did you cut all those scrollwork pieces? And the Haunted Mansion mats - WooHoo  - I'm getting those!

Michelle - :lovestruc love, love your pieces. The Main St USA lamp-post is great! And I'm finally getting to see an ATC - have been wanting to make them but couldn't until I could see one up close and personal. Thanks!

I just wanted to let you know that I should be mailing by this weekend.:thumbsup2 If not I will mail on Monday at the latest. I will confirm when I mail off my package. I have enjoyed working on this swap.

I have one more of grp C to complete -- I didn't cut enough scrolls:mad: I have JJ Frontierland cut. It took a whole lot of time and I am not entirely certain the end result is worth the effort:sad2: Will post it when I am done.

cute Susan, I think I'm getting your FF and JJ groups :cool1:

Hmmm, not 100% sure. When I bought it (about a year and a half ago) the free software that came with it was RoboMaster and it allowed me to look at all the onsite designs. I did need to download the software (free) from the Silhouette site to get to the designs. I thought it was a little silly at the time, but it did give me a chance to really play with the software.

Just a few months ago they went to a new software called Silhouette Studio -- I downloaded it and don't remember having to register it, but I was already an active customer :confused3

I bought mine on E-bay and got it for about $120 -- so for me I was happy with it just to use it for all the fonts on my computer. Before that I was spending $30 for one font for my Cuttlebug! And then, of course, I got greedy and am loving all the other features and pictures I can download. And it is nice to download one item for .99 instead of buying a cartridge for lots more. It also allows me to import any clip art picture (JPEG) into the program and do an autotrace to create my own items.

I've been really happy with the purchase. The only downside I could see is if you wanted to use it at Swaps. Yes, it has an SD card but not a nice screen to see your designs, etc. Or you would need a laptop. Since I don't go to swaps it's no big deal -- 100% of the work I do on it is direct from my computer.

Actually the Main St USA pieces are the reason I joined this swap! I originally cut them for the ABC swap and there was just too much "clean up" I needed to do with my exacto knife before I was comfortable sending them out. They screamed Main Street to me. Yes, 5 is a pain but doable -- 14 for the ABC swap, too much!!!!! It was cut using my Silhouette and if my mat had been stickier I probably wouldn't have needed my knife as much! I purchased a "swirly" design and then replaced some of their swirls with the mickey heads to make it work. The Haunted Mansion mats were also from the Silhouette store. I'm glad you like them!

OK, I seriously think I need to look into getting the silhouette. My cricut is almost 4 yrs old and sometimes it is doing quirky things. Have been crossing my fingers it won't die, but I'm afraid the old gal isn't what she used to be. I love the thought of the auto-trace function and only buying the pieces that I want, instead of a whole cart for maybe 4 or 5 pieces. Since my birthday was yesterday - it seems totally reasonable to buy myself a gift.

Was looking at SCAL, but if the cricut dies it won't do me much good. Is there a large variety of pieces you can buy and download? My DH and I have a laptop, so that's not a problem.

Did you say it works with any font you already have downloaded? Can you weld with it? Would you be willing to show me some pics of other pieces you've made with it? I'm so intrigued.

Happy Birthday to a fellow pieces!!! I'm Tuesday!

Anyway party:party:party: to you!
No one in my house even remembered until my mom called at 9 p.m. to wish me happy birthday.
Needless to say - there's a whole lotta groveling to be done at my house for a while. :worship::worship::worship:
