Magic Kingdom rope drop + Extended Evening Hours: do I still need Genie+?

Hello folks!

Trying to finalize my strategies for each day of my trip in June and hoping some of you here who have been to the parks since the introduction of Extended Evening Theme Park Hours and Genie+ can help me out with a question I have for my Magic Kingdom day. I'm travelling (group of 6) for our first post-pandemic trip. My current plan is this:

Reschedule our Magic Kingdom day for a Wednesday. Get up early to rope drop Mine Train (we successfully got towards the front of the pack on our last trip). Then spend early part of the day prioritizing Adventureland and Frontierland since it has things we need/want to accomplish during day time (Splash Mtn, Thunder Mtn, Tiki Room, Country Bears, River Boat). Around 1pm/lunch time, when the park gets packed and the sun blazes, we head back to our resort (Wilderness Lodge) for a few hours of respite and relaxing lunch. We return around 3:30 or 4pm for rides and fireworks. Then stay for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours and hopefully get on a lots of rides with walk-on wait times.

My question: In this scenario of Rope Drop + EETPH, do we still think I will need to purchase Genie+ for my group? I don't love waiting in long lines (40+ min), though others in my party aren't as impatient as I haha, so I could stomach it for them. But we are really used to accomplishing EVERYTHING in the park with the old fast pass system (of course, minus a couple rides we just dont care about like magic carpets, speedway). If I am not purchasing Genie+, will the extended hours provide us enough opportunity to hit all of the rides? The whole Genie system seems like an absolute headache to me, and I've already accepted that I'll need it for our HS park day. If I can eliminate it from another park day great, but if it is the difference between experiencing all of MK or not, I may have to add it. Any input and experiences you can share are much appreciated!

Thanks in advance Dis fans!

We did this exact strategy last week. It worked out great for us without Genie+. Got on all the MK headliners (and more) during the extended evening hours.

Have fun! Wishing you luck, you have the whole day plus.
I think it all really boils down to how much time people have and want to wait. I’m getting it even so, but I think looking at the Tip board on those particular days ahead of your trip for a week or so before can also help see how things are going over there, but I’ve heard sometimes rides are inflated
