Magic Kingdom Queues

Which queues have the closest quarters? These are the ones will we try to avoid most with the DAS. If a queue is either a) quick moving or b) open with some room, my DS is less likely to have issues. Which ones should we avoid at all costs? This will help me plan where to FP+, where to get a return time on DAS and where to try to RD (if the queue is worth seeing, but gets crowded, we will try to RD it)

It's Disney. ALL queues are crowded, except first thing after RD or last thing at night. People will tend to fill any unoccupied space, especially if the queue is wide ( and that is how Disney designed them). Your best bet for personal space are those rides with very narrow queues. You can allow the group ahead of you to get a bit further away from you, to give you more breathing room. But you'll still have people behind you breathing down your neck. Literally.

He'll be in front of me, so that's okay. I can deal with strangers, he doesn't do so well. Which ones are narrow? I can also get my kids to fan beside me to take up the queue to allow my middle boy in front of me a little breathing room.

I haven't got time right now to list every queue. The thing with a lot of queues is that they often start out fairly wide and then gradually narrow. And CMs can alter lines depending on the crowd levels. But if you Google images of the attractions or check You Tube videos, you can get a feel for what the queues look like.

We found the line for meeting Ariel to be bad in terms of claustrophobia/narrowness (it's a cave/grotto). BTMR was also pretty crowded because there were just so many people and it seemed there was a lot of pushing and shoving. And that was with a fastpass (we can't/don't usually do any standby lines with the exception of like Carousel of Progress or something really short). My younger son went ballistic in line for Great Movie Ride. Not so much narrow but the switch backs are terrible. So it looks like you are almost to the ride but you are not to the ride at all. Zigzags everywhere. Ended up picking him up and holding him. Not fun. Don't know what to recommend for that, but just be aware. It wasn't a fun wait.
I guess it depends on when you are going too. If it is crowded, all the lines are pretty crowded and they always have everyone kind of close in together to keep the line moving. A stroller as a wheelchair tag would help with that to provide a safe haven for a child that gets overwhelmed in line.

I also recommend looking at like Big Fat Panda so you can see POV for rides. A lot of them go through the whole line portion first so you can see what it looks like.

There is a narrow hallway in the updated queue of Peter Pan's Flight. No window, always crowded.

Thank you! This is the exact input I was looking for! Just wanted to have a list of queues that may cause issues. If a wait time is over 15/20 minutes, we will likely use the DAS, especially if it's a claustrophobic queue. If it's a bigger queue and the wait is less than 30 minutes, I may keep him in the stroller as a wheelchair. Of course, it all depends on his mood that day too. Some days he tolerates strangers better than others.

I agree with the great movie ride I have never been able to do that line I use my DAS card for it then then I get inside to the second check point I tell them I need to use the wheel chair entice I have never been told no ( even though I have no wheel chair) but I have gotten a strange look form the CM. I am all so very picky on where I set in the ride vehicle and have been acomadete every time for this. space has a very small with but at the end has a lot of back a forth ( but there are video games you can play in line. pooh is wide but a good part has a lot of play things so you kids can go off and play while you wait then there are fun interactive walls of honey before you get to the ride so it maybe fun for your boys to do. PP if fun also ( I did this once and at 25 minutes was one of the longest lines I did at disney but was just about over my limit )
HM I cannot do the stretching room or the room after so you may need to talk to a CM about how to do it but the line leading up to is can be really cool lot of things to do like the books looking at the graves ( you may have to read them to your kids a wall with music that you can play dumbo has an in door play area brain stormers is an out door coverd line so I think this should be fine to do ( it will not be that hot when you are there 7DMT I have only been in the stand by line one time at rope drop and I was the 3 guest in line so I have no idea what that line is like ( part of my disability is if I am walking fast I have no clue what is around me type of thing) little mermaid I have only used my DAS for so I do not know BTMRR I go thought the exit so I am not sure about this jungle cruse I do not really like so I do not do this one too much POTCB I have done only a few times again with my DAS card but the lines look a little wide but it really is cool and a little dark so if you have a stroller he my do really good

for rides that do not have a FP you can still do them with your DAS card astro is the one I am thinking of you will have to go to the exit and wait for the CM loading to see you tell them you have a DAS card and would like a return time.

One thing you have to understand about the DAS card ( and I think you do ) is that you will still wait in lines ( some as long as 20-25 minute I had to get out of one at 26 minutes) so you need to be aware of this. One thing I do if a line is iffy if I can do it or not is I get a return time then I go in the stand by line if I can do the stand by line great I move on to the next ride tell the CM I was able to do that line and they just delete it for me if I can not i get out of line find a quiet place and then go back with the DAS return time. I thin you best bet is to have a stroller as a wheel chair tag and use this as a buffer for you little one

Yes, thank you. I think they may enjoy the headstones. They can all read already, so they may find them funny. Is the stretching room difficult because of being squeezed in? Is there a way around it? I find it cool, but I don't think the kids would get much out of it really.

yes there is a way around it but if you do do it I would stand near the edge of the room even thought they say to go to the dead canter if you want to skip it just tell the CM when you first get inside that you would like to skip it some say the CM will tell you this is not possible but I do it almost every time and I am fine with it ( this is one ride I would have the stroller for you do not want to go thought the regular line after the stretching room if you do not know what to look for the CM may try and put you in there ( I only do this ride when i have a friend with me that know my disability and know what to ask for as I get to the point where I can not) but in all honesty I think they will enjoy the regular line just before you get inside let the CM know ( I think they will telly you to stan to the right near the wall they will give you a white card and tell you where to go when you meet the next CM tell them you need to use the exit. ( thinks may have changed or could change when you go)

I find it hard because I am normally in the middle not matter what I try and do but depending on the day some times it is not that full and it could be doable if you stand on the outer side of the room. and I think you are going during a slower time of year so you may not have that much of a problem

Dumbo, Under the Sea, Barnstormer and Pooh are usually pretty wide and open. The Belle ride has a spot where all the kids sort of rush to the front and it's tight quarters. That's one you might want to avoid.

I loathe the stretching room. Dark, crowded, pushing people, usually a yelling cm telling people to move to the center. YUCK I'd avoid that if you can.
