My wife and I will be going to Magic Kingdom for one day this July -- we have only been once before about 10 years ago so this is "really" our first time to be there together! What are your top recommendations for must-have meals and snack stops? Would love to hear what you think is the best "package" restaurant of atmosphere AND affordable pricing but all suggestions are welcome for the best experience!

What do you consider "affordable?" Generally, when atmosphere goes up, affordability goes down, so you have to sacrifice one or the other.

For atmosphere, BOG - dinner only. For affordability, the Plaza. I also really love Skipper Canteen and would recommend it to anyone who thinks the menu sounds appealing. The prices are reasonable (IMO) & the skippers are hilarious (that one is probably, again, IMO).

My favorite MK snack is the waffle sandwich with fruit & Nutella, or a Mickey ice cream cone with chocolate ears. :)

We love the food and the atmosphere at Be Our Guest. It is relatively affordable for lunch and we like to sit in the music box room in the back, but then wander around the other rooms enjoying the atmosphere.
For snacks - churros, buy them in Frontierland take the raft over to Tom Sawyer's Island and sit in the shade and quiet for a little bit before wandering around. It is our favorite in park escape

For a lunch, Liberty Tree Tavern is a good choice and one of my go to snacks is a Dole Whip. You can find the Dole Whips in Adventureland.

Well if I had one day in MK for the first time with my wife......I would toss affordability out the window and try for BOG or Cinderella's castle. :) Now my fave has always been Liberty tree.....good food but casual. However they also changed their menu and I am not too happy about that.

My fave MK snacks are: an order of corn dog nuggets from Casey's (not DDP snack credit but oh SO yummy), turkey chili from Columbia Harbor House (DDP snack credit), and an ice cream sundae from the Parlor on Main Street (DDP snack credit).

Table Service, another ditto for Be Our Guest dinner (you gotta book speedy quick on your 180 ADR mark!). For package, excellent DDP value. Their steak is really good for being 1 TS credit, and the atmosphere is one of a kind.

If you do end up wanting a counter service lunch, you can't go wrong with anything at Columbia Harbor House. And the seating upstairs is so opposite of crowded/chaotic WDW counter service. Nice quiet place to sit and unwind.

Our favorites are Be Our Guest for lunch. That was one of our favorite meals last trip. The French onion soup and braised pork were really good. And for snacks, Sleepy Hollow has huge ice cream sandwiches and funnel cakes or waffles with toppings that were really good. And of course dole whips in Adventureland.
