Magic Kingdom in the Morning vs. Night

There is no advantage anymore to hitting rope drop, due to new FP+. I think you'll hit more rides at night, depending on the season. Someone mentioned the late night party events. Those are excellent to not only see the park at night, but have a leisurely time hitting the entire park
I disagree, I can still use RD to hit a few top rides plus then use my FP scheduled for mid-late morning, essential hit 6+ top attractions, while beating the majority of crowds who are not in the parks until mid day. Evenings work only if you are willing and able to stay right to closing and hit main attractions in late hour so before closing (especially when regular closing is 11pm or late or with evening EMHs). Either approach works, sort of comes down to whether you are a morning person or nightowl - and if the rest of your party (including young kids) are on board.

They aren't mutually exclusive. I like them both for different reasons.

Love running around in the early morning and getting a lot of attractions done while we're still full of energy, it hasn't gotten hot yet, and the crowds haven't gotten on my very last nerve.

But I also like going back to the park in the evening, taking things at a much more leisurely pace, enjoying how beautiful the park looks at night, seeing the shows, and just being there.
Exactly this! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

we love the night time at MK - my kids are night owls so we always take advantage of the extra magic hours that go on to 2 or 3 am - you can walk right in to almost any ride or autograph line. the kiddos have the best time and always ask every trip if we are doing late night at MK - to us it's way less stressful unless your kids are sleepy

While both are amazing, I would have to say night. It's incredible to see the park lit up at night!

Morning, hands down.
But I am a morning person.. not worth a damn after 5.. just ask my wife, my boss or my kids. ;)

Something about that fresh, clean feel you get when you are the first few to enter the park.. We got picked once to go in about 30 min prior to rope drop and although it was nice... not as cool as when the rope drops and the mad rush to the Mine Train begins.. ;)

Just be careful with the late night followed by morning RD or opening (or in the other order), too many times back to back will quickly drain the best of anyone, especially those that need their sleep (the grumpy young ones and older folks!). Having said that, for our upcoming June trip we are going to close MK at midnight on our first day, and go back for 9am RD the next day, but then slow down our pace for the following days to other parks where FP will be more important, less so RD.
