Magic Kingdom Hours - August 17 & 24, 2018

I usually avoid morning EMH in the parks, even when staying on site, but I love going to Magic Kingdom on party days because the parks are usually much less crowded. But in August, there are some days where Magic Kingdom has both morning EMH and closes early for MNSSHP. I'm still planning on going those days, because I really feel like the 6pm closure will detract more visitors than the 8am EMH will attract. Does anyone have experience with these kind of hours at Magic Kingdom? Would my assumption be correct?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but when there's a special ticket party at the Magic Kingdom (ie MNSSHP and MVMCP) in the evening, there is typically an AM EMH. I think it's pretty normal for the past few years? In any case, you're right, Magic Kingdom is definitely less crowded on party days, AM EMH or not.

I'm surprised at the 6pm close on party nights. Didn't it used to be 7pm?

Anyhow, I'll be there on 10/26 without a party ticket, and the 6pm close is not deterring me.

We will be doing the early EMH then hopping to AK for the evening on 9/7. Works out perfectly for us.

It used to be 7pm. Disney started doing 6pm closes with MVMCP dates last year, and that trend has carried over to MNSSHP this year.

We did it last year on the last MNSSHP day. The park never seemed to get crowded. We left around 3:00.

Here's what we did from 8:00 to 9:00
Astro Orbiter, Buzz (2x), Speedway, Tea Cups, Pooh, Carousel of Progress, People Mover

Those aren't the typical EMH rides, but we had FPs for 7DMT, PP, and Space Mtn. Space FP was for 9:25, so we wanted to be in that area when it was time. We were about the only people in Tomorrowland for that hour.
