Magic Kingdom Harmony Barber Shop taking Reservations

In case you did not know, the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street in the MK is now taking reservations

They do hold a credit card number because if you do not cancel and miss the appointment there is a $10 fee.

this is great because trying to get in there can be extremely difficult.

We have apointments this time, I am so glad , last time even though we went at Rope Drop the lines were long! Also, they told me you had to cancel 24 hours ahead of time to not get charged that fee.

You know I don't remember but it wasn't much, I want to say like $18. That was 2 years ago so it might be more but I don't think it'd be much over $20.

Wow, this is great information. I just called and got my daughter an appointment for her first haircut September 18 at 11:30. I ended up being passed around a few times to get the right operator, so to save any of you that hassle, here is the number:

According to All Ears here are the current services and prices:

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.

Cost for a haircut is $19 for adults
$15 for children 12 and under.
Colored hair gel, $5.
Beard and mustache trims are $10.
"First Haircuts" is the establishment's specialty. Young Walt Disney World guests who receive their first haircut at the Magic Kingdom barbershop are treated to many delightful surprises, from "pixie dust" and bubbles to Mickey Mouse stickers, and an extra-special "My 1st Haircut" set of Mouse Ears and certificate. The "My 1st Haircut" special is priced at $18.

I made our ressies last week & the operator had a bit of difficulty with it as she had never done one before. The only issue we had was I only wanted to make an appt for the styling (colored gel & confetti). We did it on our last trip and it was about $8. The only ressie options were 1st haircut, girls cut and boy cut, so she made the ressie for a girl cut & noted that we only want the styling....it will be interesting to see what happens when we get there.

I just wanted to add our experience.

WE LOVED IT, I did call and make "appintments" for both DD and DS frist haircuts and it was an awesome experience. Penny was our "person" and she did an awesome job with my 2.5yoldDD and 9mold DS. both still look supper cute 4 weeks later.

Do call and make a resv by the time we left there was a line.

I am pretty sure it is the same, 180 days out from when you check in. I did mine for November 19 a while ago. We have had great experiences there, so glad to not have to wait this time.
You can also call the 407-WDW-DINE line and make the reservations right then when you make your dining ADRs. That is the number I called, no transfering I made it right though them.

We have done the first haircut, it was so cute, last trip my DD11 cut her hair for Locks of Love there so she and DD8 are both doing it this trip. It will be their 2nd (DD*) and 5th (DD!!) time doing it and the hair color and sparkles makes it extra special for them.

I am so glad I stumbled across this thread. We leave next week and have no ressies and this is a ritual for my DH and DD. I will call tomorrow and hopefully will be able to get us in.

I just made appointments for my DS and DD10. Great to be able to make an appointment. My DS had his first haircut there and they did a great job!

Also wanted to mention that I just made the reservation today for next Wed (about 10 days away) and had no problem getting the time I wanted.

I'm just wondering if it's too kiddie like for an adult. I thought about it when I was there in April, but the lines were terrible and there seemed to be a lot of parents waiting to get their kids' hair done.

I'd love to hear any adult experiences.

My DH gets his done EVERY SINGLE TRIP! It's his must-do! You can do a normal hair cut of course but DH let's Michael have fun and he usually ends up with wild colors and pixie dust!

Definitely a fun thing to do and gets you lots of attention from characters too! Plus they do give a good haircut too

I think it's much like other requests. They will indicate your request but can't make any guarantee. As long as Michael is working, DH will wait for him. All the other ladies have been great too but Michael is just so funny that DH enjoys the "show" so to speak.

We just got back from our trip and the reservation worked out fine. I did ask how they keep track and the process works because there were lines waiting.
they said there are 3 chairs and they can only book 2 for reservations with in a given time period. there is still a bit of confusion since so many people don't realize about the reservations so they are still working out the kinks. so they said to be a bit patient with them if there is a wait. if you have a reservation you will have priority.

we lucked out and got in 15 min early since there was no one there at the time.

This is great news. I don't always pop onto this section of the Dis and now I know to make a ressie for DD to get her hair cut in December. We get her hair cut everytime we are down there. Now we won't have to wait as long!
