Magic Kingdom Expansion Confirmed!

The rumors I have read were 1) The new Little Mermaid Ride for DL will go where 20,000 leagues was.

2) It is rumored to be a forest themed expansion of Fantasy Land, princess-centric, called the Enchanted forest. Would take the place of part of or all of Mickey's county fair/toon town/whatever they call it now.

So, once again, Disney "cheaped out" on an area that was originally scheduled to get at least one new "E" ticket ride, and instead they are going to put up a lame "forest" themed area. Man, Disney keeps dropping the ball over and over, and...................

^^^and they might get rid of Mickey's area?!?! Heck, are kids even going to know who Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc. are anymore? Besides some characters that show up at the parks? For instance, I never see classic animation on the Disney Channel anymore.

[steps off soap-box]

Good point. Maybe they should replace them with Buzz, Woody, Nemo, Lightning McQueen, and Russell from Up. Afterall, Pixar is creating the movies that our kids will consider special 20 to 40 years from now.

out of those areas shaded on that picture, i don't think they could build behind Space Mountain or Fantasyland. all that land is swamp, manger parking area, railroad tracks, a bridge, and behind all that is where they close Floridian Way for the fireworks. Don't think Disney would go through all that hassle.

Sad, in a way, but true. Someday kids will say "It was all started by a mouse??? Which mouse? What are they talking about?"

I do agree that perhaps the Pixar story department should be handling Disney's new releases as well.

Yeah i agree with the previous poster that stated if a new land is developed there damn well better be a new E attraction or 2 or 3.... Seriously if it's just a forest with a whole bunch of photo-ops gift shops and money making opportunities I will be kinda miffed.... Also a playground/area is not an attraction.

You do know Little Mermaid is scheduled to be an E ticket ride right?

At $140 per person the "magic" would wear off real fast... as I wouldn't pay for it. Have fun Condorman in you empty park. I highly doubt thousands of people would pay that much.

It wouldn't be completely empty, I'd be there too! I too would pay $140/pp to not have to wait in any lines. I'd simply cut out some of our ts dining or souvenir money to pay for it. Just like park hoppers have become must haves for our trips and get budgeted in, so would these. If thousands of people wouldn't pay that much, good news for me! :thumbsup2

I'd probably pay for that option as well, but on the other side of the coin, that amount does seem a little steep. It is unrealistic to say offer it to all people staying on site, but I think that price wouldn't make them that much extra money in the end.

I don't know where we came up with the $140 price -- maybe it was me. But I don't think that's a lot, not if it's a one-time add-on cost to a MYW PH. You can't put a price on the time it would save. No more having to rush to rope-drop. Getting to TSMM at 4:00 pm, and even if the FPs are all gone, you slide your KTTK card in the machine and out pops your Magic/Dream Pass to go right on. I can't imagine anyone not jumping at the chance to get one. It may not be an "every trip" indulgence, but definitely worth a try at least once.

The price came up from Disney Resort Paris.

Obviously there testing this and the price is 100 Euro's per person per day.

The VIP passes came with the concierge level rooms and suites.

These rooms were always very expensive but the big plus of the VIP passes made it worth every penny.

There's no way we will go without them. It takes a lot of money and time to save for them but there real magical and the best thing is you can buy them.:thumbsup2

That's what youtube is for...we watch the old cartoons on there for free!
I wish they'd launch a Disney Classics channel...that would be superb!:cutie:
If it weren't for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the original classic characters might not be all the popular right now.

Also .....whatever happened to the Australia in AK rumor???:confused3

^^^Agreed. And I don't do enough with YouTube. I only recently discovered the on-ride videos people have posted.

I never heard about Australia for AK. Personally, I'd like to see the original missing land at AK with the mythic and fantastic creatures.

I found this picture on the web. WOW

THIS WILL BE HUGE

That rumor was around when the park opened! It was supposed to be the next land following Asia or so the rumor went.
