My family and I are staying at the Wilderness Lodge this coming April and I have a question on transportation. For early entry into the Magic Kingdom, my understanding is that the red flag boat does not start until 30-45 minutes before the park opens, I don’t believe that this includes the early start. Is my best bet taking the bus or taking the blue flag boat that starts at 6:45 AM and walking from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom? Or has the Magic Kingdom boat been running earlier to accomodate early entry? My thought is we would like to be at MK by 7:30 with the gates opening at 8:00 and rides starting at 8:30.

Has anybody confirmed that the boat between Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary has started running again?

Even if it is, that would seem like the longer and slower route to me. I didn't time it, but when I was there a few years ago, that boat ride seemed longer than the bus ride from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom - and that isn't factoring in the walk from Contemporary to MK.

When staying at Wilderness Lodge, I would only take the boat between there and MK if you want a slow, scenic route. The bus is faster and seems to arrive more often.
