Magic Kingdom Diner Suggestions need help!

Hello all of my favorite wonderful people!

CRT doesn’t have any meet or greets
BOG has the Beast meet and greet Not available

For someone taking their one year old son what do you guys suggest as a good themed restaurant? I wanted to meet characters and eat but none of the magic kingdom dining experiences seem to be available at this time…sad

What do you guys suggest for diner?

Maybe go over to chef mickeys or storybook dining.

Unless you head out of MK, you will not find exactly what you want. I would probably go with Skippers Canteen for theme and more unique flavors. I would skip Liberty Tree because the menu seems similar to Garden Grill and they DO have characters back--even though I can't say enough good things about family style dining with young kids. Tony's could offer some cute photo ops--your family with the Lady & the Tramp statue, your son's hand next to the concrete paw prints, but it's Tony's.

If you want to stay in Magic Kingdom, consider the Skipper Canteeen. If you sit in one of the smaller rooms (S.E.A. Room or Family Parlour), it isn't as loud and there is a lot to look at.
ETA there is a lot of theming throughout the restaurant, I just mean there is a lot to catch a little one's eye at closer range in the smaller, more colorful rooms.

I would also consider Chef Mickey's if you really want a character meal on your MK day. (Though the need for characters is the only reason I would recommend it.)

FWIW character interaction at Garden Grill in Epcot is great.

While we love Skipper Canteen, I think the theming will be lost on a one year old. So if you are looking for characters, I agree with heading out of the park. Chef Mickey like others have suggested is a great option or Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge is just a quick boat ride away and both will have characters. The food is probably better at Artist Point, but it's Snow White characters vs Mickey and pals.
