My DW and I will be flying into Orlando the day after Thanksgiving and leaving on the Disney Fantasy the next day. We are considering going over to the Magic Kingdom around 5 PM that Friday. We have never visited DW the day after Thanksgiving. How crazy is it? Just want to see the decorations, do a little shopping and see the Electrical Parade. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

1. How crazy is it?
Just want to see the decorations,
do a little shopping and
2. see the Electrical Parade.

1. Crazy.
2. CRAZY!
The second performance of the parade will have far fewer guests watching.
While there is no second parade on the schedule yet, expect that to be added and the MK hours to be lengthened as the date gets closer.
That second parade would be much easier to watch.

A look at the MK Parade Route-
Disney's (MS) Electrical Parade starts near the Firehouse and exits near Splash Mtn.
The 3 O'Clock Parade (Festival of Fantasy) and both the MVMCP and MNSSHP parades start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.

Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents, or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears. (But, from those locations you won't be able to see the spectacular, not-to-be-missed show that is actually projected on the front of the Castle, "Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the fireworks.)

We were there the day after last year in the evening and it wasn't too bad. I'm pretty sure EASYWDW had it as one of the parks of choice based on the fact that a lot of people would be there on Thanksgiving day. As others have said, the later you go the better and less crowded it gets.

I was going to say the same thing. We went last year and actually did all four parks in one day, ending with MK as it had a late close. We got there right as Wishes was starting and we found almost everyone left after that. Park was quite reasonable, especially after 9PM. We even got an awesome outdoor table at Casey's to watch the MSEP about 15 minutes before it started. We ordered food, walked out, and it was just there. I think you'll be fine.

Thanks all...I must say that I am not real concerned about viewing as my wife has a handicap and I push her in a wheelchair. Couple years back on a Saturday night I literally could not move her in the wheelchair since the park was so crowded. We actually gave up and just went back to the hotel so I was concerned about that. My hope is so many people go on Thanksgiving Day they may choose another park. Epcot is another option for us since that will be the first night of the Candlelight Processional and Epcot is much larger than Magic Kingdom.

A really good choice, if getting around with a wheelchair is a priority.
