Magic Kingdom BarberShop- Girl Options

wizard: I read somewhere on the dis that people have taken thier daughters to the barber shop to get fairy dusted and a hair do. I have not seen specific information anywhere else on the dis. Can anyone provide more info on what the options are and how much it costs? thanks!

I'm taking my DD7 there during our trip because I don't like all the gel/hairspray they put in their hair at BBB and they won't really deviate too much from the style. I also know it would be tooooo tight of a hairstyle for her and she has very curly hair. I just want it put up in a fancy pony with sprinkles and the crown I'm bringing. See this thread:

We make this a must do every trip. In fact, my 7 year old daughter has only gotten her hair cut at Magic Kingdom. But they do a gel and pixie dust treatment for girls (you don't have to get a haircut). Basically, they take your hair and put it in a half pony tail on top of your head. They then put stripes of gel up from your hair line on your forehead to that pony tail and top it off with pixie dust. It is a ton of fun. As to cost, I think we paid between $7-9.

And as an FYI - you can call and make reservations with the Barbershop by calling Disney Dining. If you get a CM who says that you can't do that, hang up and call back til you get a CM that knows how to do it. And note that you can only reserve two spots per 30 minute time slot. They will also take walk-ins but those with reservations get taken first.

It is a great alternative to BBB so have fun!

Just a note, they won't really "style" the hair. They just pull it up into a quick pony tail. If you want something more elaborate, you can do it yourself and then have them add the colored gel and confetti.

Our last few trips we paid $7.50 or free with a haircut, but the prices may have changed since then.
