We just found out that my mom wants to take the extended family on an over the top Disney trip next October! It will just be for 3 or 4 days, but she wants to get a 2 bedroom Villa for the 8 of us. I'm so excited, as I've never stayed at that level of accommodation. She is asking us to pick the particular villa.

It looks like every two bedroom villa location has two bathrooms. That's the only requirement of my brother's family.

With our kids' ages, we were thinking we would do Magic Kingdom and Epcot only for parks. So, I was thinking either Bay Lake Towers or a Grand Floridian Villa would make transportation easiest to those locations.

Questions: Does anyone know any significant differences (aside from theming) between those two villas? Is there anything off with my transportation logic? Any other options I should be considering?

The Grand Floridian villas are absolutely gorgeous. The pool area is very nice, too. The whole place is wonderful. BLT to me is rather cold and sterile, but that is just me.

The resort monorail runs clockwise, so MK would be the first stop in the morning for GF and the last stop at night. The benefit of BLT would be that you can walk to MK. The GF has boat service, which is nice, too.

I think the monorail for Epcot would be about equal for the two resorts.

2 bedrooms at Bay Lake have 3 bathrooms, so that may make a big difference for you. Also, Bay Lake is the only one that you can walk to MK, which is nice when transportation isn't working so well.

If you have younger children a theme park view at BLT where you can watch the fireworks from your room might be a nice option. The GF room will be a little more expensive than a BLT room. We own at both and like them both for different trips but when we are going for a luxurious and relaxing trip we choose VGF when we want a more exciting trip and plan more park time we tend to choose BLT.
