I've searched the boards, but couldn't really come up with the info I needed, so I'm hoping maybe some of you July 4th vets can help me out.

We're planning on watching the actual fireworks from our room at Grand Floridian so we're good there.

What I wondered was, does anyone know what time, if at all, the crowds start to maybe thin down a bit?

Since the park is open so late, we thought it might be fun to just go over from maybe like 11pm to 1am, but not if it would be impossible to even get there.

Anybody know?

TIA:)

I've only been there once 4 years ago but I remember that when the fireworks were over it took my friends over an hour to get from our spot by splash mountain to the parking lot. We stayed but it didn't significantly thin out for a solid 2 hours after the show.

We went to the MK on July 3, 2009 and did the dessert party. It was also PM EMH that night . We watched the July 4 show and then planned on crossing over to Frontierland to watch Spectromagic. It took us over an hour to get from the Tomorrowland Terrace to Frontierland and Spectro had to start over an hour late! It was total insanity!! People were acting like complete morons. It was borderline dangerous.
