Hello everyone! I sure could use some advice if you don't mind...We're heading out in June but with DD who will be almost one year and DS who will be almost 5 - so our pace is going to be very slow! Most likely our plan is to only spend the mornings in the parks (unless everyone is having a very good day)! I have two days planned for MK - only one is EMH. I am trying to plan out the 'must dos' and see what else can be left out. Since we are doing three character meals while we are there, Chef Mickey's, LTT and CP, do you think we could get away with skipping Toontown altogether? Every other land in the park has at least one thing we really want to do, so I was thinking that skipping this part would save us some time and a lot of walking. What do you think? I would appreciate your opinions!!

With children that age I think skipping ToonTown would be really sad. They would love it and I am sure you would forever cherish the looks of awe and wonder on their little faces.

I agree. I think Toontown is great with little ones. When kids are that little I think the important thing is to let them repeat things they like. My kids like to do stuff they like over and over.

My son loves Mickey and Minnie's houses. Lots of fun things to do in them. You could always take the train to save on some of the walking.

Our 4 and 5 year olds LOVED Mickey ::MickeyMo and Minnie's ::MinnieMo houses. I think it's the perfect age for them. There's also the Barnstormer for your 4/5 DS, if he's up for it. You don't have to wait in line for characters if you don't want to. Or you could choose just one line.
Either way, I would see the houses.

Don't skip it - the kids love Mickey and MInnie's houses and Goofy's rollercoaster. You could skip the lines to see the characters in Toontown if you want and just hop on the train to get to another land in MK.

We just got back from a week in the parks and almost skipped Toontown. Boy am I glad we didn't. We went for one full day and skipped it then, because we has already seen most characters. We decided to go back just for a couple hours Thursday morning because we had nowhere else to be and wanted to see what we missed. Our kids had a blast. Our DS6, who did Space Mountain, Mission Space, BTMRR, RNR, and all the "big kid" rides, still loved Goofy's Barnstormer. Our DD3 and DS21mos had a great time in Mickey and Minnie's houses.

Like the other posters said, you don't have to wait in the lines for the characters if you already met them. We hadn't met Donald yet, and there was only a short line, so we saw him and Minnie.

Then we took the train around to the other side of the park to cut down on the walking. It worked out great.

I would definitely recommend getting to ToonTown if you can.

Toon Town your little ones will have a great time and it will be magical for you to see the joy on they will have. :goodvibes :flower: :sunny: :wizard:

No, I wouldn't skip it either, especially with kid's that age. They will love it!

I know you said you were only going to do mornings, but if you happen to be at MK in the afternoon, go to Toontown during the parade, it will be practically empty! -- Or maybe head there first thing in the morning (grabbing Fast Passes for Dumbo, Poooh and Peter Pan on the way) for a quick visit while everyone else is on rides.

With kid's that age, you probably won't be doing some of the bigger rides with the longer waits (like Splash and Space Mountain) so you should be able to squeeze Toontown in. It'll be worth it! :wizard:

I hear the strollers are HUGE there- big enough for your older child as well. That should save you a lot of time being able to push both of your children.

Okay, its unanimous!! We'll definitely not miss it! :) Thanks for everyone who wrote in - and I definitely like the idea of using the train, that will help, too.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yes, you'd better go -- Rarely do we unanimously agree on anything around here. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have fun!!! We've never been there with a 1 year old baby, but we took the older kids at the 4/5 age and it was truly magical.

This summer we are going to take our youngest DD-2 and I can't wait to see the look on her face and hear the things that she will say. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

DS3 truly believes Mickey and Minnie live in those houses, and he is absolutely sure that one day he will catch them "at home"!!! I would not miss Toontown for the world with a small child. And if you don't want to wait to see the characters, it is easy to get away with as they are hidden back in a room so the kids won't know they are there unless you tell them.

ditto. However, wanted to add one suggestion.. . . i know you said that you planned only mornings, however one of the favorite things for younger kids is the parade. It is usually around 3:00 in MK. recommend lining up in frontierland and see it (less crowded). The 5 year old will really love it!!! I always try to sit beside my children and take pictures of their expressions during the parade. Priceless!!
Don't forget there is a baby care center in each park. Nice place to go with the 1 year old for some a/c and quiet time. They could even nap, while dad or someone takes 5 year old on some rides.

We nearly skipped Toontown when we went during crowded Easter/Spring Break, particularly because DD7 & DS7 are not into getting character autographs and photos. We fortunately did take a look in there, and my son fell in love with wanting his face painted! Figured if anyone would want it, our daughter would -- Who knew?!?

I still get a smile on my face thinking about our little "pirate" strolling proudly around. He was the 5th boy in line with another boy right behind him, so guess it isn't just a girl thing (hurrah!).

We really researched and planned this trip. Am so glad we deviated and checked out Toontown -- precious unplanned moments just pop in there. Oh, and the houses are cute and didn't take much time to tour.

Our grandsons love the little playground in TT as well. It's a nice rest stop for the adults, too!
