Magic Key Reservations all booked…now what?

My husband and I were hoping to use our magic key passes for the first time this Saturday but are now seeing that there aren’t any reservations available. I had read that this was an issue for the past few weekends as well. Anyone have any tips/tricks for snagging reservation cancellations? Does Disney re-release them at a certain time of day or do they just pop up as they get cancelled by others, and in that case, has anyone noticed a trend in when the most cancellations happen?

The first weekend, availability came and went on and off. If they did release more availability, it seemed more like a slow drip. By Friday night, I think, both weekend days switched to no reservations and never came available again.

Last weekend, it seemed like there was a big dump of additional reservations on Tuesday. And availability for the weekend was pretty good throughout the week.

I imagine later today or tomorrow availability opens back up for this coming weekend.

Another time reservations will sometimes show up is between 10 PM and midnight the night before when people cancel their plans for the following day.

I can tell you from personal experience that they don’t seem to release tickets day of.

I checked last Friday in the morning for an impromptu date night since our daughter was with my in laws. There was availability but we didn’t want to commit without knowing what traffic would be like at 1PM. By the time we checked and decided to go they were sold out and remained sold out the rest of the day.

I would say go ahead and check intermittently throughout the next few days, but don’t expect last minute day of visit allocations to drop. I was hoping they still had some day ticket allocation they would shift for afternoon AP visitors but that wasn’t the case.

Is there some way to see if future days are available if you already have 6 reservations (Believe Key)? I don't want to cancel a reservation I need just to check, but then not have it available.

Yes. In the app if you enter the magic key portal and click on benefits you can get to the access calendar from there.
