Magic Key Dec 14th - Dec 18th question

Hello all, I was wondering how soon do these dates tend to be booked? Want to upgrade my magic key but won’t be at DL till literally like Halloween. Will the 14th - 18th be immediately booked?

I have the enchant key but since I can only book 4 days I’m debating about buying tickets now or not. The upgrade to inspire would be nice but more or less it’s a bit of a gamble. Not really sure how fast December dates tend to be booked especially around Christmas.

It will book quickly because it is the last week for Inspire & Believe before being blocked. I can't say for sure, but I think you should still be okay at the end of October.

If you have Enchant, the 14th, 17th and 18th are blocked for you. Book the 15th and 16th as soon as those dates open.

Of course, this all depends on if Inspire is available at the end of October.

Where will you be staying? If you’re onsite you’ll be able to book your reservations from the resort pool & you’d be fine to wait.

If not, you could get some historical data from Fresh Baked on YouTube. Try looking up his “State of Disneyland” reports from last year. He films them every 2 weeks & in the first few minutes he’ll always review the ticket calendars coming up for the next several weeks. He’ll cover both single day tickets & MK calendars.

I have similar experience every year- my MK renews in mid October and I have plans to visit DL either first or second week of December. While some days may book up soon after release and before you can upgrade, Disney will release additional MK availability in late October and November. (I think they do this regularly as MK reservations for the 70th last week filled up almost immediately when released, but then twice DL opened up additional availability and I could have easily secured one.) I have always been able to get my needed park reservations.

I would suggest waiting to buy separate tickets. You can always get them later, closer to your travel dates, as aside from maybe a day or two the week between Christmas and New Year’s, individual park ticket reservations very rarely book up.

DVC rental shop DL hotel reservation but not sure if that counts or not

If you have a reservation at one of the 3 disney hotels, every day will be open. You need to book through the reservation. It will say something like make park reservations where it shows your reservation.

I just checked and this seems to be the case. What a life saver, thanks! Even with the enchant I can book the block out dates. I think I'm still going to try to upgrade though as the discount would be nice and I plan to go again in March.

Not sure it will work with any pass at the gate. BTW, if you go through the hotel reservation you can book any date, not just the dates you are staying. We use it all the time for last minute trips because we have a lot of DVC reservations
