You can purchase parking ahead of time but won't get your discount and no, you can only purchase lightening lane once you enter the park. I really wished they would change that.now I just want to add lightning lane and parking. Is this something you can't do ahead of time with magic key?
too bad. I didn't realize that but we will do it when we arrive I guess. do we need to be in the park? You can purchase parking ahead of time but won't get your discount and no, you can only purchase lightening lane once you enter the park. I really wished they would change that.
To purchase lightening lane you need to be in the park. To be honest, I've never used the Toy Story parking lot, and don't even know where it is. I just always park in Mickey and Friends and forgo the discount. I think you just show your MK to the attendant and they probably scan it to receive the discount.too bad. so we just go to the parking lot and use our magic key pass discount?
thank you. We have also always used the Mickey and Friends parking. no big deal if we just do that. thanks. To purchase lightening lane you need to be in the park. If you decide to pre-purchase parking on the website, the passes are valid for two years. It's probably only a matter of time before parking increases again. I think I have a couple in my account from a year ago.thank you. We have also always used the Mickey and Friends parking. no big deal if we just do that. thanks.
good to know!If you decide to pre-purchase parking on the website, the passes are valid for two years. It's probably only a matter of time before parking increases again. I think I have a couple in my account from a year ago.
We are going in November so we are ok so far. Will see how it goes.Oh, it will work out. I was just a little irked they took away all the Fridays in Oct next year except for Halloween since it's our favorite time to go. lol
I'm still debating whether I plan to renew or not. I didn't mind the small price hike from the year before, taking the Imagine Key from $449 to $499, but raising it by another hundred a year later ($599) is kinda rubbish. There's no reason for that big of a price hike in such a short time frame.
I'm strongly considering just letting it go and trading it for a Prestige Pass for SFMM (then I get Bring a Friend days and can take my buddy Sean) and a Planet Fitness membership.
I just bought our first keys after having given up our annual passes at the end of 2018. While I’ll now be going only with my husband, having annual passes during the teen years was one of the best things we did. Disneyland is a great place for the entire family to have fun together!I'm officially the owner of a magic key again. Took a year off and wasn't sure I'd doing again because of the cost for my large family, but I want to make as many memories as I can before my teenagers all get too busy. So excited to be back.

True, but I suppose we’ve done Disneyland their whole lives so they were happy to keep going with us, because it meant they got to go to Disneyland, you know. Even as young adults I’ve found them happy to go to Disneyland with us if we are paying, lol.If you’re fortunate to have kids who enjoy spending their teen years hanging out their parents .
That's correct, but it WILL activate if you use it for the discount at parking for the two top keys. That will happen even if you don't scan into the parks.Welp just back from a successful trip, and while I wish I could have used the passes I just had as a down payment (last day was Monday), I know I will be back at least 3 times in the next year (with a big milestone celebration ) so keys just make sense. I think I know the answer, but activation doesn't occur until first use, even with monthly payments, correct?
Break even math for the magic keys is kind of fuzzy. With the Inspire, we can deduct the $35 parking each time because we do park at Toy Story with our van. Merchandise discounts work toward the math if you would be spending the money anyway, but not if you spend more because you have a discount. Food discounts are probably a positive. If you park hop, you have to consider the price of a one day hopper, not a one day one park ticket.Depends on the individual..
20yo me went to school and worked a PT job that was a short walk from DL. I visited the parks about 150 days/year during my college years and even at todays prices the AP was/is an excellent value.
40yo me can go mostly weekends only. The break even for the inspire key is 11 - about 20 days (depending on the promotions/ days of use)…. Which is a tough feat given that June seems like yesterday and going more than 10x a year is challenging if not a chore.
Enjoy, all rhe newly minted pass holders.
