Wait, what is this about photo mats and candy?

People drop off photo mats, sharpies, and a treat for the cm's at guest services and the characters sign it. Some folks drop off pillowcases, or vinylmations too.:thumbsup2

Can someone explain

1) Tea With Alice

2) Galley Tour

What are they - are details available anywhere?

Do you sign up on board or at the terminal?

Cost?

Oh btw - Bob and Mary Stack - been booked since January of 2010 - first time on the Magic (2x on Wonder) CAN'T WAIT!

I'll have to defer to a veteran! We're newbies ...I do believe they are free, but that would be all that I know!:thumbsup2

We do not get in until around 8pm. Are you still going to be at the pool that late? I was thinking getting a drink on the lobby level. Do you want me to bring an extra lanyard for you? You can be an honorary castaway club member. :cool1: We have a several extra lanyards from old cruises.

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! Then I could feel like I was "in the club". :lmao: Though I guess we kind of are once we board the ship. We get in around 4:30 so we will get something to eat and head to the pool. I will check the lobby level area around 8 and see if you are there though. We also may walk around the airport shopping area too. I can't wait!

Thanks Dan!

See? Told you I got confused!! But :rotfl:, the only thing I think I want are the photo mats and maybe the Galley Tour. And for some reason I thought I had read only 1 thing from each cabin..so that's a good one to know too!:thumbsup2 And I assume for ALL 'guest services' that's on deck 3?.
And on the photo drop off...I knew to send sharpies and candy..Does that mean sharpies in each photo mat bag that I drop off? Ie: Dropping off 3 since we have 3 cabins, so I need a set of sharpies per each photo mat 'bag'?

The tea 'might' be too young for my 12dd? Haven't heard much opinion on that one. Any input there?

Anything else you can think of off the bat? I know if I've read so much, there are other newbies on here that might need helps too! And yes, I've read the Passporter, but it's been a while. Just hard to 'soak' it all in!:goodvibes

Yes, "Guest Services" is on deck 3 in the Atrium. You can drop off all three items in one bag. Just tell the CM it is for 2 staterooms. One set of sharpies is fine. Make sure you put your name on the sharpies. Your 12dd might be a little old for Tea with Alice but you never know. Since it is free you can always go and if it is not for you then you can leave.

Photomats are great keepsakes. You get a picture frame from say Michaels that fits a 8/12 by 11 picture but has a couple inch white mat with it. You take the mat with you and have the characters sign it and then insert a shutters picture in it. They look great. The candy is a thank you present for the characters that sign it. We get two done every cruise. One horizonal and one vertical since you never know which picture is going to look best. Here are some links to some threads that explain it more thoroughly.

:welcome: aboard the Magic to Paradise cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. We have a great group of veterans and newbies. You are going to love the Magic. We have been on the Wonder and it is a great ship. You will notice the pace of the Magic is different. The Wonder is much faster pace due to it was 3/4 day cruises and everyone is trying to do everything in that time. On the Magic we have 7 days to experience the cruise. Also most of the cruisers you will notice are repeat cruisers on the Magic vs the newbies on the Wonder. To answer your questions,

1. Tea with Alice is a tea time (actually apple juice for the kids) with Alice and the Mad Hatter. Cute for little kids. At the end you can get pictures with the characters. The cost is free but you do need to get tickets at guest services
2. The Galley tour is offered by the chefs that starts in Lumieres. They expain what chefs do and how the meals are prepared. They do take questions and then will be given a tour of the galley itself. At the end they give out cookies. The cost is free but you do need to get tickets at guest services

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks Dan!

Can I ask what a photo mat is? :confused3 do you get it on the boat or is it something that you make and take with you .

It looks like it could be a Dis galley tour

OH! Thanks! I'm not sure whether I'll be doing that or not. My bag is going to be full bringing down fish extender stuff and then bringing back souvenirs.:lmao: It is probably better that I hold back off of this one. I still have time to change my mind though.

Tis the border that goes around a picture when you put it in the frame.

Many of us in the United States get them at craft stores. The two major ones are Michaels and ACMoores. I think Hobby Lobby is gaining momentum though. Don't know about any craft stores across the pond though. :confused3

Our flight does not get in until 7:50pm so by the time we get our luggage and get upstairs it will be probably around 8:30-8:45pm. Also do you want me to bring a landyard for your DH? Also you are always part of the club.
